Document your road trip with this Uniden dash cam. It has 8GB of microSD storage, so it can record as much or as little of your drive as you want, and the 140-degree angle ensures a wider perspective. This Uniden dash cam has a G-sensor for collision detection and an unobtrusive 1.5-inch display.

Not so great

Disadvantages : cannot read Pennsylvania state license plate numbers in front of you if car is on the side, or more than about 20 feet ahead of you. And that is supposedly in 1080p highest resolution possible on this dash cam. Street signage is visible and readable however. Video looks "pixelated" when downloaded to PC, and even wprse if uploaded to facebook.. Plugs into car's power adapter for power; has a lithium polymer battery that manufacturer says takes 90 minutes to fully charge, yet will only last "up to 10 minutes on battery power alone". If you plan on using this model to "stay on" when you are parked for shopping, or for overnight hit and run accidents, etc..., this is not for you unless you have a constant power supply to it. Most cars power adapters turn off when the car's ignition is turned off. Stays on front or rear windshield with suction cup, which often falls off the window. Have not yet tested the dash cam at night with low lights or highlights shining into front of car. Not very impressed with it; however, it is better than nothing. For a cost to benefit ratio, I rate it at 2.5 out of 5 stars. I may be returning it based upon night time recording of driving. I would not recommend it unless you are OK with the above disadvantages.

Major problems installing it
on January 10, 2016

Just purchased today , and had major problems installing the software and getting to unit to begin a data back up (Windows 10, which box states it is for Windows 10). After the software installed, it did not work. A pop up box came up saying there was a software update, which I agreed to install, and it required a re-start of PC. When PC turned back on, the screen was black for an hour. Had to manually power off the PC. Re-started computer, and it no longer even recognized that the external hard drive was present. Un-installed all software after ejecting device (to safely remove). Installed software for WD direct. Same issue. It will be returned tomorrow. Over 2 hours attempting to install this. Never had a problem with previous WD or Toshiba external hard drives in past. Buyer beware.

Causes the on/off power button on my TV to stop working when Chromecast is plugged into it. Have to unplug TV in order to turn it on or off often enough that I stopped using Chromecast 2 weeks after I got it.
What's great about it: price
What's not so great: interferes with TV

Not good

These speakers sounded fantastic in the store. Just puchased them a few hours ago. Hooked them up properly to the computer, and they sounded horrible- practcally no bass from "subwoofer" at all. And they were no way near the volume level they reached in the store on disply. They are being returned ASAP. I do not recommend them.

3 years- little use- amplifier broke
on April 4, 2011

Purchased this set 3 years ago. had very good sound quality. used minimally- about 50 hours grand total of use in 3 years. Amplifier/ woofer died suddenly without apparent cause. because of this, I have to rank this item low because it did not last and meet my expectations for durability. I take good care of mt suff and expect it to last for a long time.

Garmin charges for map updates
on January 25, 2011
Posted by: NEPARick

My biggest gripe with this GPS is that Garmin charges $50.00 for a map update. They are very firm and adamant about that price. I think $10 would be more reasonably priced for a map update. You do get a free map update as long as you upddate it within 60 days; but future map updates will cost you at $50.00 Ridiculous. So I cannot recommend any Garmin products, especially when I have froends with GPS units from other manufacturers that offer free lifetime map updates.
What's great about it: It works well.
What's not so great: Map updates cost $50 a pop.

Best consumer level tripod for the money!
By KFBX from Pennsylvania
For over 20 years as a professional photographer I swore that I'd never buy a consumer level tripod. No, it wasn't a snobbish attitude. I just never came across a tripod for under $300 that wasn't garbage.
In addition to some pro-line Manfrotto gear, I own a couple professional tripods. The tripods are like tanks, great for the studio and weddings, but quite heavy and not very mobile. For personal photo outings, like family events, hiking, and such I've never found a small tripod good enough to take along.
That all changed when I saw the Manfrotto Compact Action Series Tripod one day at Best Buy. At first glance, I thought there was an error in their in store price listing. I even asked one of associates to please double check the price. A Manfrotto ball head tripod for under $100? I tested out the display model with a DSLR fixed to the head. It was lightweight, compact, and very sturdy. I rushed it to the cash register to pay, still thinking it was all too good to be true. Actually I didn't just buy the tripod, I bought a Veloce series backpack to go with it. The tripod fits perfectly inside the pack with room for a camera and other gear.
Two months have gone by and my positive opinion of this tripod stands. For casual use, the Manfrotto Compact Series tripod has surpassed its expectations. For the price this is the best consumer level tripod that I've seen.
For years Manfrotto and Bogen have been at the top of the industry for tripods, catering primarily to professional photographers. But recently Manfrotto has developed a whole new line of gear for the consumer and amateur users. It's all been quite impressive; a stylish and yet very functional array of products. For professionals, it's great equipment for your everyday shots, allowing you to enjoy the art of photography from a personal perspective.
I didn't log on to this site today to write a review. I went online to purchase another of the Compact Series tripods and another Veloce bag for my teenage daughter. She is very impressed with this new gear as much as I am. We plan on traveling this summer and as she said, this is cool stuff.
After I checked the local store availability I saw a negative review posted on the Best Buy site, and was shocked. Unfortunately there were no specific complaints detailed on the review, so take it with a grain of salt. In another site review someone said the ball head was noisy. Buy honestly it isn't nearly as noisy as the auto-focus on a DSLR. Quiet fluid heads are a much more complicated design. They are out there, but of course expect to pay a lot more money.
The only thing Manfrotto could do to make this tripod better or easier for the amateur consumer is to send a company representative to take the photos for you. For beginners it is always beneficial to take an introductory class or two in photography to understand the equipment before you head out to take photos. If you have any questions on this tripod that a store associate can’t answer, contact Manfrotto directly. They have a very high level of customer service.
In conclusion, yes this is a great tripod. And yes, I plan to purchase more products from Manfrotto’s exciting new line of photo gear.

GPS WORK IN EGYPT

hi i want ask it work in egypt or only in usa (gps in car)
I believe it is loaded with street maps of USA and Canada. I do believe that maps of other countries can be purchased through garmin.com. You may want to check Garmins website for which countries are available.
