This is a good fantasy movie based on a set of novels by Stephan King (which I had not read). The story line wasn't as engrossing as I had hoped. Special effects were good, if you like to watch people performing impossible tasks. Matthew McConaughey was particularly good in his role of the man in black. He played evil deliciously. I'm glad that I bought it and was entertained watching it, but I was hoping for more.

I bought this TV for my bedroom, where a larger screen would not have worked in the available space. This TV fit the space perfectly. I have an older VCR/DVD combo player and was able to hook it up to this TV. I also use a ROKU streaming stick and was able to connect it without too much pain (there was some running back and forth from the TV to the computer to get Sling TV to work properly). It also took a while to get this smart TV to connect to my home network. Just the usual aggravations of 21st century living. Once the set up was complete, the system works great. I am able to watch TV, play DVDs, and play VHS tapes. The picture and sound on this set are excellent. This set is 1080p, which is unusual for find in a 32" screen, but it makes a huge difference. Best Buy had a super price on this set on Black Friday and I am very pleased with the value for the money.

Dated, But Fun

This is a good thriller about a doped-up young criminal who is rescued from her execution for murdering a police officer during a botched robbery. She is rebellious and anti-social and doesn't appreciate her rescue by the CIA, which wants to train her as an assassin. She finally figures out that her attitude might cause her termination from the program (and from life) and takes training more seriously. She is assigned to live in Southern California and awaits assignment. She falls in love and her boyfriend moves in with her, causing numerous complications, as she is out wasting lots of bad people. She finally decides she wants out and getting out is complicated. It's funny to see a movie with no cell phones, vintage cars, black-and-white small-screen Macintosh computers and no internet. .

I bought this movie during my Black Friday shopping. I read the cover and decided to take a chance on it. I wan't disappointed. It is an interesting look at Indian society when a young boy falls asleep on a train and winds up a thousand miles away from his home where he is not even able to speak the local language. After some scary moments, he is ultimately adopted by an Australian couple and grows up on Tasmania. It is the story of his quest to discover his birth family, primarily through snippets of information that come back to him. He nearly destroys his adopted family and relationships with his obsessive behavior in his family search. He is finally successful, but goes through a lot of pain in the process.and his reunion is bittersweet. Good movie -- worth seeing.

I bought this receiver to replace a Pioneer Elite receiver I purchased in 2006. It was a superb receiver, but it lacked enough HDMI ports to support my new system components. I looked at various receivers in-store and online and the Sony had everything I was looking for -- sufficient HDMI ports, 4K up-convert, HDR capability, and power to shake the house if needed. I am using this with a 5.1 system of Klipsch speakers and the sound is superb. I like the remote and the on-screen interface, too. I haven't seen anything better for the price and would buy it again.

I had hoped this would be better, but it was very predictable, with one-dimensional characters that fit various stereotypes. That the protagonist put together professional multi-media presentations to prove God's existence (and did it overnight) really strained credibility. I like faith-based movies, but this was very disappointing.
