This movie will most likely not bore you, it's funny, well made and interesting. But it seems that most of the scenes last less than a few seconds before jumping into a joke another few seconds later and so on and so on that you'll be exhausted by the time it ends. Films need those moments to slow down otherwise the whole thing feels as if it's trying desperately to make you like it.
A 1950s-set drama centered on the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as the Master (Philip Seymour Hoffman) a WWII veteran who creates a belief system which catches on with other lost souls-and a young drifter (Joaquin Phoenix) who becomes his right-hand man.

You're really not supposed to understand what the characters conversations actually mean or why they do what they do, the best way to enjoy this beautiful film is to just know that some very unhinged, not so normal characters interact with one another and see what happens next.

This film is shot too look like one long take, ambitious but boring to watch for me personally, it doesn't have the energy or unpredictability of say Birdman, so it becomes tiresome to watch unless it completely engrossed you.
