need ethernet connection to set up

I bought this router (my 3rd one) by recommendation from the clerk, it has a reach of 5,000 sq ft. My house is3800 sq ft. so I thought it would work fine. I had problems at first getting a signal upstairs, then the day the geek squad guy came out, I moved the plug from the surge protector to the wall, and the signal came in fine, while he was there. One week later, I started having problems upstairs again, so I adjusted the antena, and seems to help, signal is fine again. Saved me allot of money not having to buy the mega router plus 2 power boosters that are compatible with that company's router, so if you live in an old house that is big and who knows what might be interfering, I think it works well for the money. For a new person to the wireless internet it was a little difficult to set up, I needed to be guided on the phone. Customer service was very good (and patient). The set up had to be re-done with a hardwire (ethernet) connection a second time because of some reason I didn't understand. It works fine now, so I shouldn't complain, but wouldn't be my first choice next time for problem spots. It really depends on your situation. Most homes it would be great. This was my 3rd one, and it is working great now.

when I plugged my router into this device, it created allot of dead spots, other than that , there were no directions on how to hook up the cable and the modem to it

How does it do windy conditions?
I have an Olympus EM10, so not very heavy, but will the winds in Fairbanks, Alaska knock it over?
definately! It does have a hook, but legs are thin. Wt limit is 3.3 lbs I believe. Maybe with your camera and a wt from the center hook you would be fine. Depends on how heavy your camera is. I had a telephoto lens and would say no. But if yours is a point and shoot, it's perfect, easy to use, quick set up, good head. Locks are good too.

Will this fit my canon rebel t4i?
I wouldn't use it for my SL1 with the telephoto kit lens, a bit unstable in any wind. (similar cameras) I would go a step up to the 169$ range if you plan on being outside in the wind. This with the bottom leg section all the way extended was wobbly. Loved the pistol grip ball head. I am going to the Manfrotto MK190X3-BH Kit 190X aluminium 3-section tripod with 496RC2 ball head or one more below that. They have a tilt center colom to get low for macro and boom like operation for fast subjects (birds) as well, wt limit much higher if you want to add a gimble later on.

What does manfrotto list as the maximum weight capacity?
I believe the capacity on this one is small, I think it was 3.3 lbs.on the head and 6 lbs on the legs, but my canon sl1 with 70-300 lens was a bit scary.

depends on how much your card will hold. Probably hold more than you can take. If you're worried, get a bigger one. 32 size hold about equal to 5 dvd's if that helps
