Honestly I would purchase a better modem and router. However you will only get what you pay for from your internet provider. We purchased a plan that is $39.99 a month for 60mbps and this works great for us. We do not have cable and watch Netflix and Amazon prime through our Bluray player that is wired directly to our router. Make sure to get one that you have the option to wire things directly to it. I bought everything from Best Buy. Then I have internet through charter but I use my own router I purchased from Best Buy and our is great. Then we got the extended to use which made things better.
