Passengers is a reference-worthy demo title if you want to show someone what 4k and HDR are all about. Everything looks perfect.
The movie itself sets up an interesting moral dilemma, and then bails on it in favor of a typical blockbuster ending. The edges are all rounded off, and what's left is an okay diversion that could have been so much more.

Good movie, silly ending...

Apparently focus groups didn't like the original ending, so it was changed at the last minute. The whole movie builds to a particular ending, and then it's abandoned in the last few minutes. The alternate ending is included on the blu ray, so you can watch it there. Still, overall it's a well done film, and Will Smith is able to carry the film practically on his own.
As far as picture quality goes, there's a noticeable bump in both resolution and color vs. the standard blu ray. This isn't a reference disc (see Lucy for that), but it looks quite good.

This is easily the most immersive PSVR game yet. The Aim controller is so natural, and changes the entire experience. While the gameplay itself is quite simple, it's executed perfectly. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the story is quite short. Still, this game/controller combo is when VR starts to truly feel like reality.

Great use of HDR and WCG...

This title does a great job with HDR and wide color gamut usage. The 1080p blu ray was one of the sharpest I've ever seen. Because of digital noise reduction, the overall sharpness of the 4k image is down compared to the 1080p blu ray. That's disappointing, but the HDR and WCG more than make up for it.

...but it feels similar. While perhaps not as insightful, as its spiritual ancestor, it manages to be sweet without being saccharine, and nostalgic without being cloying. It's a movie that's fine with just feeling good, and there's nothing wrong with that.

A good, grim ending...

The final chapter of The Hunger Games does a good job of capturing the heart and feeling of the final book. I don't usually like it when movie series split one book into two movies, but in this case the film makers did this so they could stay true to the content of the books. They managed it well. There are a few changes, but none of them are significant, and the story moves along well and ends satisfactorily. Don't expect to leave feeling great, but perhaps there's hope for Panem after all.
