Love this washer. Runs like a charm. I've had it almost 2 months. So many ways it can be programmed & it senses the size of your load & adjusts itself. It has different noises than the old standard washers, but nothing extremely disturbing.
The only drawback, and it's not really bad, is this washer holds a lot. I have to reach deep down for socks. However, I've washed a king size comforter and still had room.

How long is the shortest cycle?
It's hard to say because there are so many ways to program it. You can do light loads, small loads, heavy loads, loads with deep water, extra rinse, etc... So it would depend on the settings you pick. Seriously, you are in complete charge of how & what you wash.
