This single-disc edition of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H is a pared-down version of the two-disc set that is also still available. The film is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves Altman's original aspect ratio. This is a film that really plays terribly when seen in pan-and-scan. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo, while a second English soundtrack and a French soundtrack have both been recorded in Dolby Digital Mono. English and Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by Altman.
