Great strings for more than one use.

These strings are great for the electric player who likes to bend. However they have more than that singular use. While very narrow gauge strings don't produce as much sound as thicker ones, these strings are great for a child's beginning acoustic guitar as they don't take nearly as much pressure to hold down, and are much more forgiving on little fingers. Nylon strings achieve the same purpose of course but won't fit through many 1/2 size guitars. I have also used these on a 6 string banjo with good results.

This product does exactly what it's supposed to. Some people say it's not necessary but in the winter, or just when it's dry and static can build up, you're better safe than sorry.

Best MP3 to record guitar backing tracks and playback on amplifier?
I now have a small MP3 player that's hard to operate. Can anyone reccommend a good MP3 player or another option that I can record off the internet (free guitar backing tracks) and play on one of my amplifiers? Thanks, Pete
I actually would forgo using the MP3 player to record with. There's a number of options. You could go with a cheap tape player, a pocket digital voice recorder (like what you see in police dramas, or what a journalist would use), or you could download a free recording program or DAW to record with. In any of the above options, and there are more, you simply run the audio out cable to the corresponding audio in jack. With a DAW or some other recording programs, afterwords you can then transport the audio to your MP3 player.
