Very optimized laptop!

Let me start this review off by saying that most if not all the laptops I buy are in the $1000+ range. I buy mainly business models from various manufacturers. I've used Dell Latitudes , HP Elitebooks , Lenovo ThinkPads , etc. I do a variety of different tasks including some engineering work. This Macbook Retina Pro (MF839LL/A ) , is not only great for basic tasks but it can handle more demanding tasks such as photo editing and coding. Keep in mind that at the time of this review , this model is already over two years old , but it's still a great machine! Of course it can't compete with something like a ThinkPad W series machine in raw power but for the specs it has it does fine. Apple uses a high quality screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 in this laptop and it's calibrated from the factory as well. This makes it a great machine for light photo editing since without calibration you may not get the right colors. The 16:10 aspect ratio is amazing as well! . The keyboard is pretty good. The only machines I've used that have a noticeably better keyboard than this Mac are a Lenovo ThinkPad W530 and a Lenovo ThinkPad X230t . The X230t and W530 actually have the same keyboard so that's why I'm including both. The force touch trackpad on this Mac is unmatched though. Now as far the software goes , the Mac OS works nicely but as a power user I missed the more technical configuration options that Windows 7 / 8 / 10 come with. I should mention that web browsing is more of a joy on this laptop that any other laptop once you get used to Safari and the gestures. I'm still getting used to the Apple ecosystem so I'm sure there are tons of features I'm not familiar with. I know that many Apple account functions work on this Mac including "Find my Mac."
Apple again demonstrates that on paper specs can't never tell the whole story!
Here are the main cons of this machine:
Not user upgradable (even if you can change the SSD , the warranty gets voided)
Lack of next business day onsite warranty (from what I understand only big companies can get this service through Apple)
Although this machine feels solid it can't take the type of punishment a ThinkPad can.
No support for ECC RAM (not even the 15.4" model supports ECC RAM)

Decent UPS

I've only used this UPS for small loads and for a short time for I can't write a through review. I use it for a router and cable modem so I don't have to worry about losing internet when I lose electrical power. It seems to work quite well for that. One thing that really bothers me is that it doesn't output a realistic sine wave so if you hook up a high efficiency power supply (ex: a server grade one) to it , it wouldn't work properly.

Great Wireless AC router

I initially was interested in this router since Linksys claimed it support open source firmware and it supported the wireless AC standard. Since I got a newer revision I was only able to install OpenWRT and not DD-WRT as I wanted. I've haven't had the router that long but it's a good value if you can get it for $100 or under. With OpenWRT it seems pretty stable. I currently have over 10 devices including a HTPC connected to it and it's doing its job pretty well.

Feels like a main FF entry

This game feels like a mix between FF8 and FF13. The interesting thing is that it plays like a real time action JRPG (think Crisis Core). Although this game was originally for the PSP , it was remastered to look and feel more like a modern game.
