Airline pilot Captain Chesley Sully Sullenberger (Tom Hanks) is hailed as a hero after safely landing his plane on the Hudson River-and saving the lives of all 155 people onboard-when his engines were disabled by Canada geese on January 15th, 2009. But a subsequent investigation into the incident forces Sully to defend his actions when simulations indicate that he could have made it to one of two airports.
