I replaced older rubber hoses with these. The bit of extra cost is well worth the peace of mind. A burst hose could result in a lot of damage.

Big Upgrade over Older Machines

I bought this to replace a decade+ old-style washer with a center agitator. I chose this product based on Consumer Reports ratings. Once we learned the new control panel, doing a load of laundry has become a pleasure. I notice cleaner clothes versus our old washer, and also they are much drier upon completion. I'm also wondering if the lack of an agitator will mean less wear and tear on clothing (sometimes items would snag in the agitator.) The cycles are longer than I am used to, with a load typically taking about 50 minutes. Also, with my old washer I could hand wash an item and then spin it out in the washer. As far as I can tell the Samsung will not allow that. But these are small differences. Overall very pleased with this purchase.
