I really had my doubts, but this thing worked. Was steaming all kind of stuff from Netflix up onto the hotel Flat screen. Kinda pricey, but with Apple, you have to pay the Apple tax.

Is the noise cancelling deactivated when you are speaking on a call?
No. Noise cancelling stays active as long as they are on. (And they sound good, and people on the other end of the call say they can hear me fine)

Can the headphones be paired to a non smart tv.
These are Bluetooth compatible. So if your TV can pair Bluetooth headphones, they should work
