Great '80s Fantasy Film

I loved this movie years ago and still love it today! The Alan parsons-produced score is a little dated and takes a way a little of the film's majesty, but after thirty years the film holds up well. The BD transfer looks great, although a few specks of dirt could be seen on the film. Overall, Warner did a good job with the transfer and it's the best the film has ever looked on any home video format. It's also the first time it's been released anamorphically as well.

A fun movie from the late 1980s, this movie was finally released on Blu Ray by Universal. Although they didn't appear to remaster the film it looks really good on the format.
The humor holds up well and the makeup still impresses.
Good movie; very engaging family entertainment!

This has been one of my favorite movies since I saw it at the theater about fifteen years ago. The performances are spot on and the casting is perfect. I laugh every time I watch it and Hank Azaria, especially, cracks me up.
Although the blu-ray is a little light on the extras, the transfer is the best I've ever seen this film look.

Thor: Fun but silly

The second "Thor" exercise fulfills many of the prerequisites of a superhero movie. Yep, there's plenty of action but the story is somewhat nonsensical and the outcome is pre-determined from the first frame. I enjoyed the technicolor pyrotechnics but felt the plot meandered through a half- dozen side stories without much payoff.

This is one of those films that comes out of nowhere, grabs you by surprise and makes you wish there was more to see when the credits start to roll. I loved the protagonist and the relationship he fosters with the young girl. It seemed real and never bordered on cliche. His problems were real-world and not some contrived Hollywoodish problem so prevalent in most of these types of films. Watch this, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Better than most of the recent Bond movies

"Skyfall" ranks as one of the better post-Cold War Bond movies. The Brosnan films were fairly mediocre and the later Moore Bonds were laughably cartoonish. This film attempts to bring Bond into the 21st century and show that he is, indeed, fallible.
I loved the backstory they provided for James Bond; the visit to his childhood home, Skyfall, really gives the character a dimension never seen before. All in all, a much better attempt than most of teh preior recent Bond films (with "Casino Royale" as the lone exception.)
