The movie was ok, but not great. Radcliffe's newer movies since Harry Potter have been very strange and just plain weird, but at least he's still in the spotlight...sort of.

Optimize your productivity and entertainment experience with this 15.6-inch HP Envy convertible laptop. Its AMD Ryzen 5 processor and 8GB of RAM provide smooth performance, and its AMD Radeon graphics loads stunning gaming visuals. This HP Envy convertible laptop has 1TB of storage, and its Windows Ink feature lets you work with a digital pen. Learn more.

I was wondering how long would this device last to you average users out there. I've had bad experienced with previous HP laptops and my recent one dying because of a hard drive failure.

This laptop is suitable for the average user. Build quality is good. Can't say as to the life of the device, but lately HP has been on point with build and quality of their products. The only gripe I have with the laptop is that I wish the battery would last longer. Granted it is a 15" laptop, so I don't expect it to last forever. The good thing is that you can upgrade it yourself fairly easily with special tools. So you can ditch the HDD with a super fast NVMe SSD and max out the RAM. After that, this laptop should last you a long time as I hope it does for me.

Connect your digital audio devices with this cable that sends digital surround sound audio signals through Toslink digital audio (S/PDIF) jacks. Precision-made connectors ensure an ideal fit.

No DOAC port in receiver?

My receiver doesn't have a digital optical audio cable port. Is there an adapter that I can use?
Instead of using an adapter, you'd be better off using the audio cable option that is on your receiver.

How do you prepare the cable for use?

There are no instructions included with the cable explaining how to connect the cable. It being an optical cable I was not sure if I had to remove the small clear plastic tip on the end of the cable. I finally figured out that it had to come off.

Then, I still couldn't get one of the fittings to work and after removing the second piece of plastic on one end, the black one, I got it to fit.

It is not user friendly.
There is no preparation for this cable. It's basically plug and play. An optical cable uses light to transmit the data, hence the name. The plastic covers are to protect the ends while the cable is not being used, so yes, you remove them when you use the cable.

Is it possible to connect the digital optical audio output to an analog input?

I just bought a Sony KDL 40W600B tv. I have an analog HT system that I'd hate to have to replace. My old Sony Bravia (also HD) had RCA outputs that connected just fine. This new tv doesn't seem to have RCA outputs, only component inputs.
The Home theater System is a Niro Pro 1.1. I love the sound it produces and don't wish to replace it. Any advice or suggestions on how to connect these would be greatly appreciated.
I also have a Sony Blu-Ray DVD connected to the tv via HDMI cables. DVDs play but the sound comes out of the tv now, not the NIro like it used to. Thanks.
You may be able to find a converter on Amazon.
