Does the pedestal help if/when leaks occur?
No it's not going to help you if you get a leak because it is an enclosed box with the draw if you have a leak it will not go in your draw

Does this washer send notifications to your cell phone to notify that a cycle is complete.
Ken at this time is not compatible with the Apple iPhone it is compatible with the android phone

Can this dryer be vented to the side? If so, what materials will I need?
Yes your dryer could be vented from the side you need to side vent kit from LG but I would definitely get a professional to do it it's not easy

Why do I get water in the soap dispenser
You need water in your washer dispenser because that's how your washer gets soap and also fabric softener or bleach when you do whites that's where the water comes from
