No, you're thinking rechargeable batteries, but even they have to be connected to a charger before being plugged in.

where can i get the cable to use the unit with my car stereo?
i want to play the radio through my car radio and need the cable listed on the package
You can find the said cable at Best Buy or any other electronic store. What you would want to find is one that connects to your HD Radio from one end, to the Auxillary jack.

My Insignia HD Radio (NS-HD01) portable player will not turn off. What can I do?
Hold the power button down for a second or 2 until it shuts off. If it does turn itself on again, repeat that step, then after the device is shut off, turn on the "lock" mode. It might turn itself on, but it'll say "release lock switch".

Does this unit pick up RDS?
For non-HD stations? Yes, it does. They would have to have a much stronger signal though to scroll the info.

can you switch between HD1, HD2 and HD3?
A radio station I want to listen to is currently on HD2, the problem is on the same station dial number there are also 2 other stations on HD1 and HD3 when I tune into this station I get the radio station that is on HD1 how do I listen to my station on HD2?
There are 2 ways: One, when you're on that station and the 3 HD signals pop up, you can push the "Tune up" button once to set it to your HD2 station. You can also preset it so it can automatically tune into that particular HD2/HD3 station.
