Another Bond movie.

Spectre is a movie I'm split on. It has so much good stuff in it but then so much of it just shouts wasted potential. The movie is amazing in it's first act, loses steam in it's second act but then picks up again, and then leads into a flawed and confusing third act that goes into a great finale. Watching Spectre eating fruit salad. You will get piece after piece of fruit you like and then suddenly get something gross, and then get something tasty again. But if your a Bond fanatic, there's no reason to not get this. Also Christoph Waltz and Dave Bautista play the villains. Need I say more?

All my life people have lambasted me for not seeing E.T. But now I have finally seen what people claim to be Spielbergs masterpiece (though personally I think that title belongs to Minority Report). I thought the film was fine. It's very much a kids movie, so I probably would like it a lot more then I did had I seen it as a child first. But to anyone who did, and loves this movie, this is a great blu-ray that should satisfy the fans.

Rush is the kind of movie that reminds me why I love movies. It tells the tale of 2 rival Formula-1 racers played by Chris Hemsworth snd Daniel Bruhl. It's a very stylized and attractive movie to watch with a brilliant story about rivalry and friendship. You know a movie is great when it makes a sport that consists entirely of making left turns on asphalt look pulse pounding and exciting.

It Follows is a flawed film. But to anyone who is a fan of that special breed of late 70's/early80's horror movie, then there is much to enjoy. This movie screams 80's horror. It features retro visuals, a creepy monster that lacks exposition to it's origins, nail biting suspense and a keyboard soundtrack. The movie's plot is completely fresh and original too so the many homages don't feel like all the movie has to offer. Unfortunately the characters are underdeveloped and bland, and the entire third act is full of questionable choices, character motivations and useless scenes. But, it is still nice to see that there are still people out there passionate about this type of horror film, and I hope it becomes the springboard for more.

The cover claims that Jake Gyllenhaal is in this movie. But I didn't see him anywhere. Just a really unsettling man who creeped me out for 2 hours. If you like to take in the city at night and listen to the radio in the dark then this movie was made for you. I dare not give away any story details, as it is all truly shocking to see and understand. And it delivers the most disturbing movie sociopath since Patrick Bateman.

If you are a fan of cinema, then Birdman is essential viewing. The style, score, and filmmaking techniques are bold and inventive, and it's surprisingly meta story is chock full of hilarious comedy and Hollywood satire topped off with Michael Keaton's incredible performance. This is a movie everyone can connect with in some way, and one that everyone should see.

Ex Machina is the science fiction movie that comes once in a generation. It's a complex and thought provoking film on the dangers of artificial intelligence, and the true qualities of humans. The film also utilizes ground breaking new Rotoscope digital effects, and features a career defining performance from Alicia Vikander. Highly recommended to anyone with a passion for science in their science fiction.

Watching Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill feels like an event. Presented in two parts intended to be viewed back to back, Kill Bill is a revenge epic like no other with fascinating characters, incredible fight scenes and plenty of style to spare with its samurai and martial arts movie influences. Kill Bill is a movie like no other. Not recommended for the faint of heart or the squeamish.

The Fast and Furious franchise seems like it will never end. But fortunately the movies are extraordinarily entertaining for three reasons. The actors are invested in their characters, the films are well directed and of course, the action is well filmed and adrenaline fueled. Uncharted is possibly Playstations most acclaimed franchise. The first Uncharted I did not think holed up very well at all. The gameplay was repetitive and the story was just underdeveloped rubbish. Uncharted 2 Among Thieves however was a grand adventure that felt like an adrenaline rush to play, and every problem from the first was significantly improved. And I'm still playing Uncharted 3 but so far the story is incredibly engaging and the gameplay is refined to a near master level. Definitely worth the money.
