A good film

F117A with room for passengers
A good movie although fantasy that a F117A can carry passengers. Good audio and video quality but outside flying shots had orange color casts. The movie comes in at just over 2 hours. Steven Seagal has a bit part although listed second in the credits and it never hurts to have Halle Berry to look at. I believe they used him to help sell the movie. The only extra is a 2:20 trailer of the movie, so this is a bare bones edition and that brought down the overall rating for me.

The Biggest Heist in History

If your looking for a low brow type of movie that kinda-sorta falls under the radar and you look at the cover see who's in it, who it may be directed by etc, and you hesitate on the blind buy for the price is within reason given the lead actor's. Well Empire State is that type of film. It's not a classic heist flick by any stretch, but it does offer an interesting historic view on a situation that went down in New York City circa 1982. The characters are all a bunch of cliche's for movie stuff, but these dudes where real folk. This movie is more of a starring flick for new timer Liam Hemsworth as The Rock has a small but important supporting role, while Emma Roberts pops in a few glamorous cameo's for good measure. The story moves along well and the performances are decent for the weak script, but the Eddie character you'll want to shoot in the head yourself after watching how stupid can one guy be. Bottom line I got my $8 dollars worth. Lionsgate blu offers up a standard good PQ & AQ presentation. Natural colors and a clean image. Audio is a nice 5.1 DTS track crisp and clear. A small bundle of extra's and a title that could essentially be billed as a guilty pleasure.....

Hot Looking Lautner, Not So Hot Script

If you like Taylor Lautner's looks, and I do, this movie is worth a look, but it doesn't have much in the line of a story. It is now, a tiresome formula with predictable results. If you haven't seen many movies with this plot line than it may be worth your viewing experience.
Great PQ though and the audio is no slouch either.
Extras are...ehhhhh, ok I guess, but not much more.
Again, if you love to look at Lautner and his muscles rippling within the confines of a tee shirt, than pick this up.

A film that draws you in

We all know the Rock aka Dwayne Johnson is best known for his action films when he does them. The Rundown, Walking Tall, Fast Five & 6, his comedies Be Cool, Tooth Fairy which would fall under more family fair then comedy and now he tries drama. "Snitch" is inspired by true events of a father hell bent on keeping his son from the slam after being set up with the distribution of drugs. What happens as a result is his sudden jump from smart businessman to drug runner all in the name of the law. The Federal Government to be exact who seems pretty at ease to allow this average citizen to burrow his way into the underworld in order to capture a local drug king just to find out of the bigger cartel king ping is just around the corner. The movie itself holds its own with good performances and situations. The blu side of things Lionsgate offers up an average PQ & AQ presentation with a few extra's good for a once over. Bottom line a decent offering from the Rock as a rental or under $10 purchase.

I love this movie it's one of the best I have seen in recent years I watched the DVD on release and it's taken me a very long time to get around to buying the blu ray version.
This blu ray for me is well worth the upgrade the picture quality is great and the audio is well up there to ! Even if you own the DVD like I do it's worth double dipping.

As for the movie itself GREAT is all I'm gonna say fantastic the acting from cruise and fox is brilliant one of the best movies I have seen Tom cruise in and the man as been in a lot of films.

This movie is good! A lot of stunts and a lot of action! Though this movie is not as good as first movie, it is better than the second movie. Jason Statham does a great job acting once again! Recommend you watch this movie!

Fantastic popcorn movie with plenty of non-stop action
Poseidon has a powerful audio sound stage and at the 17th minute, when the rogue wave topples the ship over, an incredible sound field hammers the room with massive LFE making this scene amongst my highest rated impact scenes I have ever seen. The video is good too but not to the highest blu-ray standards. Nonetheless this is a fun movie to watch and to appreciate your home theater.
