If you love Apple, you'll probably like this, but it is basically a tool designed to turn you into a mindless consumer. If all you want to do is consume corporate advertising and commercial you tube videos and music, its a wonderful machine. But for actually doing work? Forget it.

Not as good as a Garmin, but it will get you there

The screen is a little too small and it is not as intuitive as a Garmin, although it is simple enough so that you don't need to read the instructions. Bottom Line: It works most of the time, although you MUST use the computerized voice option or it will not read the street names where you need to turn (i.e. "Turn left in 700 yards" instead of Turn Left on Main Street).

Lets admit the horrible truth: Kevin Costner is incapable of acting. A pine two-by-four has more charisma than Costner, who plays a wooden and cloddish Elliot Ness. This movie is saved by excellent direction, Robert De Niro, and the actor who plays arch bad guy, Nitty. Sean Connery does a great tough Irish cop, too. The bad guys simply ooze evil and delicious complexity from every pore, while the "good guy" Costner simply takes up space as the "hero." For movie history buffs, there is a brilliant tip of the hat to the Battleship Potemkin. An excellent movie all around, although there is a ridiculous scene where the heroes are riding horses in an incredulous and patently stupid "shoot 'em up." The true story of Elliot Ness and the Untouchables is probably a lot more interesting, and it is doubtful he ever rode a horse in the Canadian /USA wilderness in search of bootleggers. .

The kid at the check out counter said this was his favorite movie. He really needs to watch the "Rocky" series. I thought it was so unremarkable that I actually forgot I had watched it. However, if you like true-story sports movies about underclass underdogs who defy the naysayers against all odds and "win the big game" then this movie is a heart warming and inspiring epic ... as for me, I thought it was simply "okay."

Director Quentin Tarantino is great at putting his teenage fantasies about murderous women into movies. If you like watching anorexic young women fighting each other and chopping off peoples' heads, then this movie is for you. If you are offended by gratuitous violence don't watch it, but as with all Tarantino movies, this one is more about the director's style than the actual plot.
Marking the directorial debut of Adam McKay, former head writer for Saturday Night Live and founder of the Upright Citizen's Brigade, Anchorman is set during the 1970s and stars Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy, San Diego's top-rated news anchorman. While Burgundy is outwardly willing to adjust to the idea of females in the workplace -- even outside of secretarial positions -- he certainly doesn't want his own job challenged. Keeping that in mind, it's no wonder that the arrival of Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), an aspiring newswoman, is, in Ron's eyes, not the studio's most welcome addition. After Veronica pays her dues covering so-called female-oriented fluff pieces (think cat fashion shows and cooking segments), the ambitious Veronica sets her eyes on the news desk; more specifically, on Ron's seat behind it. Not unpredictably, Ron doesn't take the threat lightly, and it isn't long before the rival newscasters are engaged in a very personal battle of the sexes. Anchorman was co-written by Ferrell, and features supporting performances from David Koechner, Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd, Tara Subkoff, and Maya Rudolph.

There are points when you may laugh out loud during this movie, but you have to like low-brow slapstick and predictable jokes. It is also a fairly good portrayal of institutional sexism in the 1970s and early 80s for kids who don't understand the attitudes of people aged 55 or older.
Based on the beloved best-selling book comes this profoundly moving story of a girl who transforms the lives of those around her during World War II, Germany. Although Liesel (Sophie Nelisse) is illiterate when she is adopted by a German couple (Oscar Winner Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson), her adoptive father encourages her to learn to read. Ultimately, the power of words helps Liesel and Max (Ben Schnetzer), a Jew hiding in the family's home, escape from the events unfolding around them in this extraordinary, acclaimed film directed by Brian Percival (DOWNTON ABBEY).

This is a the sort of movie you tell your friends you LOVED it, but in reality it is better than "meh." It is artistic, and beautifully written, blah, blah blah, woof woof.
