With the second iteration of the big green guy, Universal and Marvel get it better than the last outing. Edward Norton appears to be an interesting fit, but nowhere near as charismatic and fun as Mark Ruffalo who later became the staple for Bruce Banner/Hulk. Also, on board are the beautiful Liv Tyler and the perfect General "Thunderbolt" Ross, William Hurt.
Director Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me) and writer Zak Penn (The Avengers, and upcoming Ready Player One) give us a Hulk we are far more familiar with rather than the clunky version delivered by director Ang Lee and his team of writers. Production is also far more interesting as much as the monster Hulk faces off with. Still, it does not quite match the quality of the Marvel productions of today.
This steelbook is still a handsome collectible. The Blu delivers best picture yet. And, sound is a thunderous DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. A bevy of extras including an animated comic and an alternate opening make this one worth purchasing for the Marvel collector especially at the low price for under $10.
This multi-disc release collects every episode from Friday the 13th: The Series about two cousins who try to recover cursed items sold from their deceased uncle's store, before tragedy befalls the owners. Similar to the horror-film series in title only.

Here's a fun series from the late 80s when anthology horror was in. Near laughable production values mixing film and video, but the stories are interesting enough. The only qualm is the quality of the presentation. It is nowhere near Tales From the Crypt. Picture can be too soft at times. If you can find it for under $20 it may be worth it.

Let's get this out into the open... I am a sucker for a good monster movie. I loved Gareth Edwards' "Godzilla" and his first movie "Monsters." And, had a great time with S. Korea's 2006 entry "The Host." "Kong: Skull Island" is a blast! Great monsters, action, and suspense. The characters were a little sparse, and some of the direction was awkward. But, all in all this one is one helluva thrill ride. Sound and picture quality is excellent. But, extras are sparse.

Beautifully told tale as only Miyazaki can tell. The animation is gorgeous, and the story is fascinating. Miyazaki delivers the unique life of the man who designed the Japanese fighter planes during WW2. Nominated for Best Animated Motion Picture by the Academy Awards.
2029 a female government cyber agent and the Internal Bureau of Investigations are hot on the trail of the Puppet Master - a computer virus capable of invading cybernetic brains and altering it's victim's memory. Created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and codenamed Project 2501, this 'hacker' is actually a prototype virtual agent which has now defied it's makers by seeking asylum within a new host body outside of the electronic net. Now the two agencies must maneuver against each another in a violent, high-tech race to capture the omnipresent entity. GHOST IN THE SHELL took the world by storm exhibiting a new dimension of anime with unprecedented and mesmerizing cinematic expression. Seamlessly merging traditional cel animation with the latest computer graphic imagery, this stunning sci-fi spectacle broke through the boundaries of mainstream animation with detailed artistic expression and a uniquely intelligent story line. The film has gone on to inspire a generation of filmmakers and has become the most revered anime feature of all time. Veteran anime writer/director/producer Mamoru Oshii, working in conjunction with the animators at Production I.G. (BLOOD THE LAST VAMPIRE, KAIDOHMARU, KILL BILL) brought to life Masamune Shirow's vision. This excellent cyberpunk thriller was co-produced by Manga Entertainment and enjoyed both critical and popular success at the U.S. box office and was the first Japanese animated film to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Top Video Sales Chart.

Ghost in the Shell is considered one of the greatest leaps in anime. This Blu-ray edition merely heightens everything wonderful. From the luster of the visuals to the distinct sound and soundtrack. Well worth adding to one's collection.
It's the year 2029, and much of the world's mutant population has succumbed to a genocidal, man-made virus. As a down-and-out Logan (Hugh Jackman, in his final appearance as the character) comes to terms with his failing healing factor, he and an ailing Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) must protect Laura (Dafne Keen)-a young genetically bred mutant with powers similar to Logan's-from the evil organization that created her. With Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant.

This excellent Blu gives us two choices. Watching the theatrical version that was pretty spectacular or go above and beyond with the way the director intended Logan to look...in Back & White. An actual noire version of "old Man Logan." Grittier and more intense, this Logan is the one to see. The presentation is even better than the Mad Max Fury Road. A definite one to add to your library.

Purchased this for my son. He loves the portability, and the option to use it as a game console as well. Can also be great for parties! Best system yet out of Nintendo.

I hated this movie when I first saw it in the theaters. Being a Resident Evil movie fan, I felt the films were getting better especially with the new director on the helm of the last one. But, wouldn't you know, once Paul W.S. Anderson caught wind of somebody making his baby better, he had to take it away, and throw more monsters and mayhem sans a decent storyline. Yes, it is like watching a video game. But, this is a movie!
Picture and sound are top notch. The ladies look great, especially Milla. The CGI is a little much. But, it does have some redeeming value on a second view. If you're a fan, you'll want to add this to the collection anyway, in hopes that "Final Chapter" is somewhat better.

This Blu presentation delivers all the bells and whistles; great sound and picture. The movie itself, on the surface, looks like an ordinary revenge flick, but thanks to the directors, writer, and Reeves they take it far beyond that. A very slick action classic.
