Good improvement on previous Gen

I owned the previous Apple TV, and just decided to get this one for a different TV.
It takes a little while to get used to the new remote. The touch controls make the first day or two difficult to figure out if you're used to the old Apple TV remote, but once you get the hang of it, it's great. It makes rewinding and fast-forwarding very easy. It's also excellent that there's a single button to take you back to the main screen. Apple has needed that for a while.
It's very nice to be able to download apps and games compared to just the standard Apple TV list of apps. But it still seems like the app developers are still figuring the new Apple TV out; a lot of the controls on certain apps and games are clunky, and the Comedy Central app often sticks on one screen no matter what button I press...and I have to uninstall and the reinstall the app to be able to use it again.
If you already own an Apple TV , this isn't a huge improvement on the previous gen of the Apple TV just yet; unless you really want to play games via the remote or use some of the handful of apps only available on the new version, you're not gaining all that much. But if you're new to an Apple TV, this is the one to get.

I thought of buying a Sony 4K TV, but chose this one since it was about $300 cheaper. I've had it for about a month, and have been very impressed. The picture is excellent and the apps are very responsive and easy to use.
I only have one real complaint - the keyboard on the back of the remote is pretty unresponsive. I typically don't even use it.
Otherwise, a very nice TV at a great price.

Great book, good movie

While a great movie, JDATE doesn't have the magic and true horror/comedy blend that the book has. It has some great lines, some very good acting performances (particularly from the young leads and Paul Giamatti), and definitely has a unique blend of humor and horror not found elsewhere. It is still definitely worth checking out. However, if you're not familiar with the franchise, I can't recommend enough that you read David Wong's book version first, as it provide a much greater level of detail and humor than the movie ever could.
