As others have said I wish that it had an option of having the voice activation on all times but I guess they didn't put that in to save battery life. Maybe something for the next generation TAp

Makes a great little compact computer. Only a Pentium but is pretty snappy when you take off some of the bloatware. Not sure about the reviewer who says it was so slow. Not a photo editing computer, but makes a great HTPC or base computer for Microsoft Office, streaming videos, email etc. Very easy to upgrade with M.2 slot where you can add a second hard drive. Easy to upgrade RAM as well. Upgraded to Windows 10 at first boot up, don't remember how long it was but did not take too long. Very happy with this purchase.

I just purchased Amazon Echo. Does anyone know if Tap works together with Echo, or is it a "separate" thing?
Think of Tap as a portable battery operated Echo which needs you to press a button to ask it questions

is the greatest advantage of the tap over echo that it is portable/
Portable and smaller. but voice activation is only available by pressing a button and sound is not quite as good

What if u don't have a smartphone. Will it still work
Once set up it needs wifi to work unless you only use it as a Bluetooth speaker. You do need a device to set it up.

It has a plug in but why would you want to plug a Bose in to this?

Is the sound- volume and quality the same for echo and tap
Echo is larger and has better sound and gets louder. It also only runs on AC, no battery. Tap is good for a portable speaker.
