GREAT EXTERNAL DRIVE FOR BACKUPS

I use this drive to backup 40 years of family pictures that is stored on a hard disk residing on my desktop computer. The drive is connected to my router for backups. All other times it is not powered up and running. So far the drive is serving me well.

I didn't find the product useful for me. First, I found it difficult to get it attached and hooked up properly. A couple of the buttons was destroyed while trying to get it setup and running; never did. Second, documentation is not clear to me. I took it back to the store for refund.

Like most Apple products this machine performs well. Like most Apple products they force you to spend a fortune if a decent amount of storage is required. Of course they make sure you can't use SD storage upgrades. I got this for my 11 year old granddaughter so it will do for now.

I have several hundred CD and DVD disks that has backup copies of programs, music, photos, files. They are cataloged with an ID number for easy finding in my library. The thin disk covers take up half the space the old covers took. BestBuy had the product ready for store pickup in short order.. I am thoroughly satisfied with the covers.
