Another great story from WWII

In my opinion, you can never have enough movies about WWII and the greatest generation that ever lived. This movie is no exception. A great and unique story that differs from most WWII movies in the last 20 years. Granted, this is no Saving Private Ryan, but it is worthwhile story to be told. Brad Pitt is solid in this movie.

Admittedly, the Ice Age movies are not my favorite kid movies, but for the most part my kids enjoy them. However, this latest installment is definitely not the best entry in the saga. At times, the humor seems forced as if the writers are running out of ideas and steam. There are much better movies to enjoy with your kids and better Ice Age movies than this one.

I am a life long Star Trek fan, and I have enjoyed all incarnations of Star Trek. I know the alternative "Kelvin Timeline" of Star Trek created by J.J. Abrams is not universally enjoyed, but I have grown to enjoy the incarnation. I was a bit concerned when it was announced that Abrams would not Direct this movie and after seeing the first trailer I was not expecting much when I sat down to watch this movie. However, the movie pleasantly surprised me. It is a well written and paced movie. Plenty of action here and some great nods to Star Trek lore, including the era of the 22nd Century that was explored in Star Trek Enterprise (MACOs!). If you are a Star trek fan, you will enjoy this movie.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe At Its Finest

The Captain America movies are some of the best products that Marvel Studios has produced. This movie had big shoes to fill. It had to continue Captain America's story from the excellent Winter Soldier installment, it had to continue the Avenger's storyline, it had to introduce a very cool but lessor known character Black Panther, and in no small measure had to introduce Spider-Man into the Marvel movie universe in a way that was impactful and memorable. It does all of these things in impressive fashion. The Civil War storyline is pivotal for the Avengers and tough to watch as a fan of these movies and characters. But, the story is great, the complexity and emotion of these story threads all weaving together makes this one of the best Marvel movies yet. The Extras on this disc are awesome and a treat for comic book fans. Any fan of coming book movies cannot be disappointed buying this movie.

The ultimate edition of this movie is a much better version of the story. The added 30 minutes add important components to the plot. Seeing the trinity of the DC Universe on the big screen is awesome. Ben Affleck brings a new and fantastic element to the cinematic Batman. I still think that DC has a long way to go in order to match the cohesion and story telling of the Marvel universe, but this is an enjoyable journey.
