I'm very happy with my purchase. I wanted to hide wires and move speakers behind my couch and this works perfectly. I was worried about a delay in the sound from the other wired speakers but there wasn't any. I also read about concerns with the high hissing on diff volumes with similar products but I haven't encountered any. I play them loud for football Sundays and am satisfied with my purchase.

Where do I find the cast icon?
It looks similar to the icon to expand to full screen, except it has some little waves on the top right, like it is 'casting' a signal. Mine is usually next to the icon to make full screen.

Do you have to plug Chromecast into a power source or charge it?
It has to be plugged into the wall during use. If it isn't, my phone can't find it at all to send anything to.

HDMI?
I don't understand . . . does this device plug into a HDMI port on the TV or some other port (such as USB)? Seems like the product specs would address such a fundamental question!
It plugs into the back HDMI port of the TV. You have to charge it for about 10 mins, and then go through setup. After that, you sync it with your phone or laptop. I used my phone to set it up, Android system. I can then pull up Netflix, Youtube and other apps, and I can send them to the TV to watch.

VGA or HDMI port?
My TV does not have a USB port, but is HD and has VGA and HDMI ports (which we use to play Netflicks through a laptop). Can I use Chromecast if I get a converter cable, eg. USB-to-HDMI?
Mine came as an HDMI plug in. It also has an adapter to add length if you need.
