Good screen for a beginner like me

I purchased this screen as part of my first projector set up. I got the screen at a discounted price as part of a package deal cause I purchased everything at once. The screen is good quality, kinda too bright that the blacks look kinda gray but it might be the contrast on projector or maybe both. It was great size for my 9 foot wide wall. I like how it looks and works with my projector. I don't like the way it smells when its open it has a strong chemical smell. Maybe because its new, but hopefully it goes away soon. I don't like the way it closes, it is not easy to retract I have to pull and let it go fast in order to retract without it stopping 5-6 times before full roll up. but i must keep my hand on it cause it'll slam against the casing. Over all its good fro the price but I would spend extra 100-200 on a better screen.
What's great about it: size, price, quality for the price,
What's not so great: the way it smells, the style of casing
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Addition to home theater

I've been wanting a projector for a long time and December 2013 I settled for a 70 inch TV. Well may 2014 I got the itch again cause the 70 is too small to watch from 15-16 feet away. I was recommended this projector by the sales Representatives cause of the contrast, colors, lumens, and customer reviews they've heard. They did offer me 2000.00 dollar one but they said for what I need it was this would do the job. Well I took it home together with a universal mount and found out its difficult to bolt up the holes are place kinda weird but it is doable cause I figured it out (rigged it) I suggest to buy the correct one. I have double curtain and a blind in between the curtains. It looks great it is very bright. My room is pitch dark and this lights up the room . I tried it with the curtains open it still was very visible. Not practical but viewable so it will work in not so dark room just not the bright ones. The colors are amazing, the picture quality is good for a 720p projector. I have it connected to a ps3 @ 1080p via a 4k surround sound receiver. Now the internal speaker is plain trash YOU WILL NEED SPEAKERS. The fan is loud but with external speakers it bearly audible. Contrast is okay it could use better blacks. But not too bad. The zoom is a little touchy but easy to work with. Overall I like it for the price I paid $548 they price match to amazon. Get it if you are not super picky. I have this to use over the 70 inch TV for special movies or events with family. Not used daily.

What's not so great: kinda loud fan, doest take just any mount

I purchased my first one together with the projector after installing everything I had problems with the signal staying on or coming on at all. I ran the cable in wall, above ceiling, and plug it in and it would not send signal to projector. I started ruling out item by item ps3, projectors, AV receiver, rca cables, well it ended up being a bad HDMI if I went and wiggled/jiggled/moved the HDMI connection where it connected to the AVR the signal would come on. Well long story short I took it back exchanged it and the second one worked flawlessly without any other modifications except replacing this hdmi. It sends good signal and more than anything it stays on without me having to mess with it. It is heavy cable and it can be a pain running it and connecting it to your electronics. I would not buy it again for the price. But I was in a hurry.

Used to split the signal between tv and projector

I needed to split the signal for the projector and for the tv set. I purchased this because employees recommended it. It does the job well but the automatic switching/searching sometimes takes 3-4 tries and then it stays. Like I said it does it automatically I just sit back and let it do its thing over all I like it it does what I need it. Aside from no power button, the green power light staying on with no feature to turn it off, and the sigel front it like the little box.I recommend it and would buy it again.

Good cable for surround sound

Honestly I purchased this by mistake I went to best buy to buy a single subwoofer cable and was looking at prices and saw this one for 17.99 and it was 8 foot and picked it up thinking it was a single subwoofer cable not just regular audio RCA jacks. When I got home opened the package and realized it was two audio rca jacks I didn't want to back to return it so I decided to hook it up to newly added 2nd subwoofer in the theater room. My first sub has a $40 12 foot rocketfish cable which looks exactly the same. Well when I turned it on it sounded the same to me and I'm kinda picky when it comes to theater bass. So these are good sound cables for the average theater sound. There is way more expensive cables out there but they won't do much better than a rocketfish cable.

I read about using a Y on a subwoofer instead of just a single cable so I purchased this to try the theory. At first I was skeptical because of how cheap it looks and previous experience with dynex subwoofer cable that didn't work and gave lots of feedback. Took it home and the thing worked good did exactly what I needed and it fit nice and snug on the connection not to tight or too loose. Then I went and purchased a second one to put on my second subwoofer. For something simple like I used it for it works great for the price.

How can I enhance dialog volume
First see if your AVR receiver or amp has dialogue adjustment.
Check the bass levels on front and center speaker bring it down if need to. Raise the mid levels a little
Lower the main speakers and bring up the center channel to the correct hz on the crossover

Will the splitter know the difference?
Both TVs are not on at the same time. One is 1080, the 2nd is 720. If the 1080 TV is on, will my picture be in 1080, or will the splitter read the standby reading from the 720 TV that is off, and send the 720 picture to my 1080 TV that is on?
I dont think it should make a difference. All that it does is splits and transfers the signal it receives. Its up to the tv set to decide what quality to display. With some strong hdmi cables it wont make a difference. It'll transfer anything you feed it as long its 1080p capable. I had 1080p sony tv and a 720p projector being fed by the same ps3 and my tv displayed 1080p and the projector did the 720 without me having to change anything.

how and why we need this A/V Y splinter?
A/V Black cable Y spliter connector and how to connect toReceiver.
These sometimes are used on subwoofers that dont have the single LFE Input. They sometimes only have a red and a white input connection. But sometimes they have all 3 red, white, and yellow LFE. If you use the sub out from the receiver which is 1 single rca cable then use the Y connector at the other end to connect at subwoofer in order to use both the white and red inputs it will give you little bit more sound. But this way the you have tune the subwoofer using the onboard equalizer on the selfpowered sub and not not the equalizer on the AV receiver. This is the old way of doing it nowadays almost all self powered subs have the LFE. Y can also be used to split sound into 2 for 2 different items reproducing sound like speakers or for two subs but it sometimes can weaken the signal because its getting broken down to 2 different sources.

What wall mount is best for a JVC 37" LED HDTV?
I want to mount my 37" JVC on the wall. It does not need to tilt. Which product is compatable?
If its not going to be much higher than the viewing position you can get away without tilt. Monoprice.com and best buy.com are good sites. Depends on the weight of the tv.
