So far best Radar Detector I've owned

The Passport 8500 X50 is a great radar detector very sensitive, without going off too often. Distinctive sounds for each type of radar. Ka signal is great since it's the most common of the radars used in my area. Good Lidar sensitivity also. The best testimony I can give is that I purchased on Black Friday, traveled all that weekend with troopers from various states shooting radar and now during the Christmas Holiday and so far haven't been pulled over. Still working on custom programming, but out of the box works fine.

Red display versus blue display
In the escort passport 8500 x50 model, what is the difference in the red display and the blue display? Does this indicate a difference in the device?
I've only had experience with the red display, I imagine blue would be easier on the eyes at night.
