The Fire TV Stick is one of the best streaming services on the market. I looked at Chromecast and Roku and, after reading all of the reviews, I ended up with the Fire TV Stick. I'm glad I did.
It works seamlessly with all of the streaming services - Netflix, Hulu, HBO, etc. - but also allows you to download apps to extend your media capabilities.
My only gripe with it is the experience for Amazon Prime media. It's honestly a terrible browsing experience. It's not really a go-to for media for me personally so it's not a huge problem, but if that is your primary media outlet, could be frustrating. Which is ironic because it's the Amazon Fire TV so you would imagine they would put a little effort into it.
All in all, worth it for the price and great for cable cutting!

Changed My Life

This wifi hardware changed my life. We live in a long apartment that is a whole floor of a building and my router just wasn't able to produce any sort of meaningful signal to the back of the apartment. I tried better routers, extenders, and even changed the positioning of the router. Nothing seemed to help.
I was then introduced to the idea of the mesh network and I was hooked. I did some research and found that Google Wifi was one of the best on the market for mesh networks, so I was sold in.
It's better than I imagined. It was crazy easy to setup, I have access to all of the data via the wifi app, and best of all, I have blazing fast internet everywhere in my apartment. I'm talking full bars in every room.
For everything I tried, the price of the whole home internet was totally worth the benefit. I have gone out of my way to recommend this product to others that are having the same issues as me. I'll never go back to old wifi again.

Have to Go Brand

I don't know what it is, but Apple seems to know when you use cord that isn't an Apple brand cord. It's kind of annoying, especially when they keep changing the technology to "better" or "faster" whatevers so I have to go out and buy yet another cord.
That being said, the Apple brand products always work right away when plugged in. The longevity however leaves a lot to be desired. Outside of my cords alone, I've seen countless charging cords from many friends of mine that get shredded at the joint fairly easily. For the price, they should have more durability built into these cords, especially when you pony up for the full price brand name cord.
I recommend this cord so you know it works, I just don't recommend you being ever so slightly hard on it or it might break.

The album Tribe Called Quest wanted to make from the very beginning. It's their most even, consistent album of the original trilogy that also includes People's Instinctive Travels... and the Low End Theory. But in spite of this, or maybe because of it, it's also their most uninteresting. With so many competent tracks, there's no chance for something to stand out above the pack, like InchScenarioInch did on Low End Theory or InchCan I Kick ItInch did on People's Instinctive Travels. The celebration is there (InchStir It UpInch), the jazz drums kick (InchOh My GodInch), and the stand-up bass dribbles, keeping perfect pace with Q-Tip's unmistakable mic-touch (InchElectric RelaxationInch). There's even a Native Tongues armistice/reunion with de la Soul (InchAwards TourInch). Although it comes together like a seamless tutorial in jazz hip-hop style, it comes together so damn well that it's hard for any one track to excel, cursing the album with consistent quality. I bought this for a friend of mine who LOVES Guardians as a gift, and he was blown away. The artwork on the vinyl is super awesome and makes it stick out from his other albums. It does NOT come with a case outside of the clear plastic dust cover, so if that's something you're into, it's something to think about. Otherwise awesome purchase, he was super happy.

Hard to review an Xbox controller because it's an Xbox controller, but I'll say this. The new controllers have a different exterior that actually makes the controller feel more organic and comfortable.
I picked up this controller because it just so happened to be the one on sale (I don't really care about the color of my controller, I'm not that hardcore), but oddly enough I get compliments on the color all the time. The bright green makes the controller pop and actually looks pretty cool too.

How Far Gaming Has Come

Before I write my review, can we take a second to reflect on how far gaming has come? I remember seeing Tecmo Super Bowl on Nintendo, watching the cut screens, and thinking "Is this real life??" When I got the original Playstation I thought "There is no way graphics could get any better." Now, you see games like Assassin's Creed Origins on a 4K HDR TV and it looks like you are playing someone's actual life.
It's a testament to how incredible these systems are these days. I was torn between the Xbox One and the PS4 and ultimately went with the Xbox One. I'm glad I did. I much prefer the Xbox controller over the PS4 controller (just what I grew up with) and the graphics are insane. I don't have a 4K TV, but the graphics were noticeably different either way, and I guess I still have something to look forward to when I'm ready to upgrade.
I would suggest going with the 1 TB because games on the new system take up a ton more space than you might be used to. Anything smaller than 1 TB will fill up insanely quick.
If you are a true gamer and you have the technology to support it, you'll likely want to upgrade to the Xbox One X. It will give you even more amazing graphics ("is this real life??") and a more powerful experience overall.

If you are a Smart Home and you're looking to expand your connectivity, the Google Mini Home is a great place to start. We used one of these to add connectivity to the bedroom (our main Google Home device is in the living room.) We have smart lamps and wanted to add that same functionality to the bedroom and other rooms in our house. For being as small as it is, it actually puts out a good amount of sound, although we use it to connect to our Sonos speakers that are already connected to our wifi. I got one of these for my sister-in-law for Christmas and she uses it in in the kitchen for quick conversions and recipes. For the price, you really can't beat grabbing one to test it out if you've never had a home assistant.

I actually got this as a promo for free just for purchasing a larger item at Best Buy. I ended up giving it to my dad as his first smart speaker so he could use it for music in the kitchen. He has a larger collection of CDs, so I thought I would bring him into the world of streaming music. For a more affordable speaker compared to the others out there (Alexa, Google Home, etc.) it definitely puts out a good amount of volume. The assistant works great and definitely works the way you would expect it to. The sound quality is obviously not the most incredible thing you've ever heard, but it's nice for a smaller room in your house. For the price, it's a great little speaker that gets the job done. It works with Google Home, so don't pick it up if you are already an Alexa family.

I picked up this mixer for girlfriend for Christmas last year and she absolutely loved it. It's a timeless kitchen tool that has been around for as long as it has because of how completely and utterly useful it is. She bakes a ton of cupcakes and goodies and this mixer has completely changed her prep time. She LOVES the color too. I didn't think we would get as many compliments as we do our mixer, but by golly we do. This is something I know we'll have for a long time and it was well worth the price. Would recommend to anyone.
