Have had my new black stainless steel range for about a month now. Totally satisfied but would like to point out that there is not a good manual that accompanies it to explain the features. It took three times of me thinking my dinner was baking before I would realize you must press an arrow button once you select bake and a temperature. There is no instructions regarding the convection feature or the dials to operate the warm burner or the dual size pan burners. Slowly I am learning but lack of instructions would be my only complaint.

After 16 years with bisque appliances I upgraded to Whirlpool Black Stainless Steel. Have only had them a week but so far I am thrilled with counter depth side by side fridge, dishwasher with stainless steel interior, convection/regular range, and overhead mounted microwave. My sales representative pointed me to just the right items to fulfill my needs without breaking the bank. Delivery and installation was AWSOME and as promised. The black stainless looks great with my new granite countertops.

This has a rack in it. Is it microwave safe? If not is it an oven also? Why the rack?
The rack is safe for microwave use. It is so you can heat two dishes at a time. However, they recommend removing it if only heating one item. That I do not really understand. I was leaving it in place when only heating on lower level and it was fine. But, when I placed a bag of popcorn on the bottom, it sparked when the paper bag inflated and touched the rack above it. Fortunately, no harm was done. Luckily it removes very easily because I really do not want to store it someplace else.
