As an international relations student, I find this to be one of the most entertaining depictions of the Cold War that is perfect to show to beginning students. It not only captures the feelings of the era but it also injects a healthy dose of humor.

I cannot express how much I love this film. I'm a huge fan of the earlier films and was not disappointed by this new version of Max. As has been explained in countless reviews the amazing action scenes and vehicle chases are made even more amazing when you realize that the film perfectly blends CGI and practical effects to the point that it's hard to tell what is CGI. This is easily one of the best action movies of the year.
The barren landscape stretches out before you, seemingly unending with no signs of life and no relief from the relentless sun. As you navigate your battering ram of a vehicle over the remnants of a long-abandoned highway, you contemplate this existence you call life. There is no mercy in this post-apocalyptic world and no solace ~ only the instinctual quest for survival and the cold comfort that is vengeance. You've become a lone warrior, a reluctant hero, but only because your choices were that or death. The only thing that gives you any hope is the thought of leaving this madness behind and finding peace at last in the storied Plains of Silence. You are Mad Max, and these are the end of times.Embark on a dangerous journey through the Wasteland that is this post-apocalyptic world on a quest to retrieve your Interceptor, which has been stolen by a deadly gang of marauders. Take on each foe with brutal moves and combos that are your only chance of beating the deranged bandits of the Wasteland. Scavenge the landscape for the scraps you need to craft and upgrade equipment, vehicles and weapons ~ your lifelines in this unforgiving setting. With the ability to construct the ultimate war vehicle by choosing from dozens of customizable parts and upgrade combinations and arming your vehicle with a slew of deadly weapons, you can annihilate enemy vehicles in dynamic, physics-based vehicular combat. As you explore the vast, open-world environment of the Wasteland, take on unique missions and side quests, eliminate eccentric bandits and battle savage gangs. At first, this game was everything I hoped it would be. It was a massive game with the ability to personalize both Max and your car. The melee combat was solid and the vehicular combat was exhilarating. However, the game has a weak storyline that has a dud of an ending, and patches have introduced frustrating bugs that lead to major frame rate issues as well as texture popping. These technical issues got to the point where it made the game less fun to play and I decided to trade it in. I think it's probably worth a try once it goes on sale, but I can't recommend this game in its current state.

My wife and I are music lovers and absolutely love this movie. Some great musicians appear in the movie, including Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin, and Dan Akroyd and John Belushi do a great job as the two main characters. I recommend this movie for anyone who wants to see a great movie with great music.
As you take in the pleasant view outside your window, it's hard to fathom that it could all be swept away in the blink of an eye. For Artyom, however, there's no need to imagine ~ after the devastation of an apocalyptic event, the only hope for salvation lies in the darkness deep beneath Moscow in the underground. The Metro franchise introduced you to Artyom's world as you plunged into the survival horror genre with Metro 2033, then kept you riveted in the action-packed follow-up, Metro: Last Night. Now, get ready to return to the terror and brutality that defines this hellish world on a first-person shooter thrill ride that tests your will to survive in every way.Metro Redux includes Metro 2033, the terrifying first chapter of Artyom's struggle for survival in the ruins of his city, as well as Metro: Last Night, the heart-pounding continuation. The nightmare begins in Metro 2033 as Artyom, a survivor of an apocalyptic event 20 years in the past, is forced to leave the relative safety of Moscow's underground and emerge into a world populated by murderous mutants and full of toxicity and danger around every corner. As if the world outside wasn't horrific enough, Metro: Last Light brings the terror underground as Artyom struggles to save humanity as it perches on the edge of civil war and ultimate destruction. Struggle for survival armed only with homemade weapons and your trusty gasmask as you fight your way through two action-saturated campaigns with all-new melee animations, plus hours of thrilling DLC. Immerse yourself in the bleak world of post-apocalyptic Moscow with stunning imagery rendered in silky smooth 60 fps, as well as new lighting, physics, dynamic weather effects and full-body player animations. I love the atmosphere of this game as it is one of the most compelling post-apocolyptic game environments ever made. My only complaints would be the very slow controls and a few bugs which require you to start over from the beginning of the chapter to complete it.

I'm not a huge fan of fighting games, but after seeing some reviews I thought I'd give this one a try. Although the learning curve is a bit steep for someone like me who hasn't played a single game in the series, it's certainly a blast. Can't wait to play some MKX with my girlfriend!
