It would need a faster connection than DSL. You will have a lot of lag with anything less than cable internet. It will work but you will get frustrated with the lag.

Is it true this tv does not have a built in tv tuner? I'm a cable cord cutter and use an external antenna along with my streaming services. Also is this for all Vizio's because that would be really upsetting since I was looking to give Vizio a try.
There is no tv tuner with this model. Visio has other models that do have a tuner

So if I want to watch cable television (I have Xfinity), would I have to buy an external tuner? I'm confused as to how this aspect works and what a TV tuner actually does I suppose. Thanks.
You will need a cable box that usually comes standard with cable. The tuner that it does not have is in reference to if you where to want to connect free over the air channels with an antennae, it will not work that way like most tvs do. If you have a need for that function then you would need an external tv tuner but again if you have cable with a cable box this will not be an issue.
