I initially wanted to get an Apple mp3 player but was deterred by their exhorbitant prices; and then I saw Sony's Walkman and was sold by the aesthetically pleasing looks as well as the price. I also love the sound quality.
One minor issue I have with it is the buttons are so close together, which makes pressing the wrong button very possible; however, that can be fixed once you get used to the layout. It would be nice if the mp3's software was compatible with Macs, but I can still save songs from my Mac like I would to a flash drive, so that's not a big problem.
What's great about it: Sound quality, looks, ease of use, battery life
What's not so great: Buttons take some getting used to, Mac-incompatible software
