Learn more about Gears of War. (Flash demo) SynopsisIn a frightening future, humanity faces a new enemy of warlike creatures that have risen from the depths of the earth. As the Locust Horde marches forth, you'll take on the role of Marcus Fenix, a former war hero with his own internal demons to contend with. As he faces his most dangerous enemy yet, he must learn to lay his past to rest and lead a troop of soldiers to victory. In this epic tale of blood and glory, the fate of humankind rests on his shoulders alone. With realistic environments rendered in stunning detail, you will be immersed in a living, dynamic world governed by the laws of physics. Utilize the game's interactive environment to turn ordinary objects and natural elements into tools of war. Wield a massive arsenal of weapons designed to give you the power you need to succeed against your foes. Advanced artificial intelligence means the soldiers you command are nearly indistinguishable from human players. Multiplayer options abound via Xbox Live capabilities that help you take your online gameplay to the next level.

Has all the gore/graphics/action that Halo3 lacks!

The main tip when playing this game is: "Look for cover!" immediately. You can't just march in a firefight and fire away. You will perish within moments if you don't look for cover immediately. A lot of "Time Crisis" type of battle since you always need to duck and cover. The storyline was well written and the action is nonstop. This game is good to give you at least 10-20hrs of devoted time just to pass. It's really difficult (even at Casual difficulty) to fight off brutes while attempting to finish tasks here and there to win the "war" in this game. There is a lot of eye candy and it is apparent that the programmers/developers of this game has spent a lot of attention on detail in regards to gameplay and game environment. Even for a game that was released last year, it's still one of my top favorites. This game has all the violence, gore, strategy, eye candy that seems to be lacking in Halo 3 (I'm not a big fan of Halo 3, very overrated game IMO). Gears of War is definitely one of the best games ever released for the Xbox 360. Definitely a keeper!
What's great about it: Great duck and cover and shoot FPS game. Co-op feature is fantastic.
What's not so great: Multi-player option isn't too hot. A LOT of necessity for duck and cover. You're constantly looking for cover

Learn more about TimeShift. (Flash demo) SynopsisDr. Aiden Krone is a former professor of Applied Physics at MIT, notorious for his unrivaled brilliance and obsession with Thermodynamics, Advanced Propulsion and Quantum Electrodynamics (QED). Despite his increasing demands for control and secrecy, he became the founder and lead physicist of a classified Time Travel research program. More than a decade later, Krone's program successfully developed the world's first time-traveling suit technology. However, as the program's equally secretive decision-makers demanded this technology be adapted for military applications, Krone's self-entitlement and anger grew. He desired a new existence where his scientific endeavors could be shaped without outside interference. The combination of Krone's mind and his suit technology gave him the ability to create and control another existence ~ an existence where a man of science could finally operate without restrictions, regardless of the effects on humanity. Now it's up to you to trace Krone and stop his tyrannical rule over Alpha District. Don the Beta Suit and master time to become the ultimate weapon.

I hope the game overall is better than the demo!

If you play the demo - it's actually pretty fun how you can manipulate time. Grabbing an enemy's weapon while "pausing time" and then pressing "play" again is fun because the A.I. of the game makes it believable that the enemies are in shock of how the player (you) has the technology to perform such tasks. The demo showed to me that YOU HAVE to manipulate time or you will be unable to succeed in the game. The game has a very "1984" (by George Orwell) or Blade Runner feel to it in regards to ambiance. Very dark and futuristic. After a while, it's sorta the same FPS game with different weapons. After playing so many FPS games on the Xbox, you run out of ways of being creative with that genre of game. This is a little bit of an exception. Can't wait till it is released on Halloween!
What's great about it: Very neat how you can manipulate time in remote control fashion
What's not so great: Same First Person Shooter formula we're all used to seeing with an "M" Rating
