This lens on my Canon 60D gives an equivalent of 16-35mm, which is exactly what I wanted to give impact to my close up shots, architecture and landscapes. It has very low distortion for such a wide lens, but is a little bit softer than I had hoped, and has a bit more CA at 10mm than I was expecting. The latter is easy to fix in post though. This is the first lens I have owned with USM, which is great compared to a noisy micro-drive.
The lens has a bit of a plasticy feel, hence my rating on durability and value. Overall though I really like this lens and would buy again.
What's great about it: UWA coverage, USM and low distortion
What's not so great: Not quite as sharp as expected
Canon EF-S 18~200mm f/3.5~5.6 IS Standard Zoom Lens: An ideal lens for everyday use, this versatile lens can capture a gorgeous sunset to a spectacular fireworks show. This zoom lens suppresses chromatic aberrations while retaining true colors. And with the image stabilization to help reduce motion blur, you get extremely sharp pictures.

I purchased this lens along with a Canon T2i, and they performed well together. I went for this particular lens for the versatility, I only wanted to take a single lens on my recent vacation, and this covered all my requirements in terms of focal length extremely well. If you are very fussy about your pictures though, this may not be the lens for you. To achieve that large zoom range, the optics have suffered. The biggest issue is chromatic aberration at both extremities of the zoom range. Next is softness in the corners. However, if you keep it stopped down, and use RAW file formats and process the pictures afterwards to remove the CA, you get acceptable results. Overall its a winner due to its versatility, I would buy it again.
What's great about it: Versatility and zoom range - one lens does it all
What's not so great: Chomatic abberation and corner softness
