mostly comes down to screen refresh rate. For plasmas, which are your cheapest and best bet for gaming, they have a 600Hz refresh rate. Only thing about plasma is that in order for it to work good, the room has to be dim or dark -- so close them blinds!! haha. For LCD and LED, which are still good for gaming, will have 60Hz or 120Hz refresh rates. Obviously the higher the refresh rate the better the experience will be. It really depends on your budget. I'm addicted to Call of Duty multiplayer and i really wanted to take my playing to the next level without breaking the bank. I went with a Sony Bravia 40" 1080p 60Hz LCD. The quality is awesome! And dont even get me started on the breath taking detail of blue ray movies. However, there is one thing about it that bugs me a little bit -- if you're in a dim level or dim map, when you look around the shadows can sort of have a small delay, but its nothing to get your undies in a bundle for.. I absolutely love my tv. I paid around $550 for it when it was on sale. And heres another thing, wait for a TV to go on sale.. you'll save a lot of money which you can then put towards a protection plan. With this tv, the 4 year Black Tie protection plan was $100. So if pixels start goin out, or screen seems funny, or anything technical.. Geek Squad will take care of it. If they can't fix it, you get a brand new TV FREE!!! Totally worth the 100 bucks. Plus, with the Black Tie Protection, they come to your house FREE whenever you have a problem or question about your TV. If you got the money, go with a 120Hz refresh rate. If not, make sure u get a 1080p tv. It'll make all the difference especially when watching blue rays! 60 Hz will always work just fine for gaming, trust me.. i play almost all day everyday. If you have the money and are debating about LCD or LED, go with LED. LED will have better piccture quality. But will cost more lol
