When it originally aired in the mid-90s, My So-Called Life was greeted with critical acclaim and a ferociously loyal cult following for its sharp and layered depiction of coming of age as an American teenager at the end of the 20th century. Unfortunately, it was not met with spectacular ratings and was cancelled by ABC after only 19 episodes. Naturally, fans clamored for a proper DVD treatment, and in 2002, a complete series box-set was released. And while it finally allowed viewers to revisit the show, it was an imperfect release. The image quality left something to be desired and there was a lack of bonus features to accompany the episodes. Finally, with the release of this set from Shout! Factory, there is justice. Each episode has been digitally remastered and presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. Moreover, there are a wealth of special features, including interviews, featurettes about the characters and music, and--best of all--cast and crew commentary on seven episodes. Once and for all, a dedicated fanbase has gotten what they'd long hoped for. This is the definitive My So-Called Life DVD release.

This nuanced and sweet series was gone after only 19 episodes, far too short a run for a story of it's richness and quality. There are few shows that can make you feel for their characters as though they are real people you live near, that years after they are gone you wonder what happened to them next. This is one of those shows.
Now it's being re-released on DVD, this time with the attention to detail and the extras that the first set lacked. This is a definite buy.

If you liked "Shaun of the Dead", then this is right up your alley. Instead of sending up horror movies, this time Simon Pegg and Nick Frost take on the buddy cop action comedies like Bad Boys.

This is a story of small town America, of football in Texas, of young hearts, a desire to win, and the impact of good judgement and leadership on children's lives. You don't have to be into football to get this show, because it's all about the inhabitants of Dillan, TX, the most realistic little town that doesn't actually exist. Try this show out, and you'll find yourself half-believing that it does.
What's great about it: Great Characters, Acting and Relatable!

It's sad that this movie had to get made.... sad that the show Firefly was cancelled so quickly and that its creator had to settle for finishing off his vision in a 2 hour theatrical finale instead of weaving a rich storyline throughout the seasons.
See this movie, but FIRST see Firefly, the TV series that started it all. You will fall in love with it, trust me. Without watching the TV series first, the movie will be only a fraction as fun, and anyway, if the movie were an episode of the TV series, it wouldn't even be the best one.
