The actual Garmin unit is very good but due to complaints from customers, who felt they should be able to remove the dash disc from their car dash, they made the glue less effective and now the disc is no longer sticky enough to adhere to the dash and is totally worthless. I prefer to use the GPS from the dash and not have cables hanging from my windshield and have tried a beanbag and it slides around too much. It seems like Garmin would be covered if it made it clear in the instructions that the dash disc was a PERMANENT installation and could not be removed. That way, people could use the windshield or a beanbag if they didn't want it on their dash. This is a deal breaker for me.
What's great about it: unit itself
What's not so great: dash disc
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
