I recommend "Plans" before I'd tell you to buy this album. If you own and enjoyed "Plans," then get this one, it's more of the same, but shorter. Very melancholly and somber feel throughout the album, but you probably would expect nothing less from Death Cab.
Cath... is by far the best track.
What's great about it: Tight melodies and rhythms
What's not so great: Short album length, nothing stands out from previous album

This Coldplay album with undoubtedly attract new fans to the group. The overall feel of the album is very undued and although the record company will release several singles for airplay, Viva La Vida... doesn't contain standout "pop-py" tunes that the band is known for. The best song on the album: 42. Some people have said it is a rip-off of a Radiohead song "Cuttooth," but I don't hear it...
I'd definately recommend this album, but it's one you'll want to listen to before you buy.
What's great about it: Sonically different from their older material
What's not so great: Not as "pop-py" as their other albums (not a con for me per se), Short overall album length

Must have album for any Pink Floyd fan. "Summer of '68" might be the best Pink Floyd song released up to this album's date. "Fat Old Sun" contains a guitar solo that rivals Gilmour's "Comfortably Numb" solo. "If" is a great Waters driven song. "Atom Heart Mother Suite" is a change of pace from what you'd expect from the band. It still delivers what most Pink Floyd fans look for that seperates them from the other rock bands that were around during the era.
What's great about it: Range of instruments/sounds
What's not so great: Not for the commercial music fan, not radio-friendly

This is a very underrated Pink Floyd album. It's forgotten and overshadowed by WYWH, DSOTM, and The Wall. But this album showcased the band at it's creative peak. This isn't a concept album, so it has a wide range of material that should allow the listener to listen to certain songs, without needing to listen to the entire album at once.
What's great about it: Great tracklisting with a range of sounds from the greatest rock band in history
What's not so great: Not for the casual Pink Floyd fan, expecting The Wall - type material

If you're on the fence on whether to pick this album up, try Pink Floyd "Pulse". This Live album contains the entire Dark Side of the Moon album performed (in my opinion) better live in concert. The Double CD also contains tracks from the early Floyd years and Floyd minus Waters.
What's great about it: Tracks flow seamlessly throughout

Wait until Gran Turismo comes out in '08. NFS: Carbon is very glitchy and the gameplay is repetitive. There should be way more cars to choose from. I expect the same from NFS: Prostreet.

R:FOM is the best title released on the PS3 and I believe it was more involved and smoother gameplay than XBOX's Halo series. Online play is ridiculous. It adds several map variations of the levels you play in story mode (which allows for CO-OP play). Up to 40 players can play in one map against each other. You have several "goals" to accomplish online to keep gameplay focused if you'd prefer not to go the mindless-killing route (i.e. medals for 100 kills with every weapon, stealth kills, etc.). Capture the Flag, Breach, and Meltdown (king of the hill) allows for fresh online play. And the best part: IT'S FREE. Can any online XBOX game say that? Nope.

The review title says it all. If you've played Max Payne before then you'll know EXACTLY what to expect from this game. It's very repetitive and lame at times (i.e. shoot the sign above a group of enemies to drop and clear them out). I honestly liked Max Payne better than this game. Probably because it was the first to prefect the "bullet-time" aspect to the 3rd-person shooter genre. Save your money and download the free demo from the PS store.

This game adds to the list of disappointing games not living up to the PS3 expectations. I own a 1080p HDTV and this game only goes to 720p resolution. There's a demo for this game at the PS online store via your PS3, download that first. It gives you a good idea of what to expect from the full version. My advice: save your money for Gran Turismo (which will be in 1080p) or get Motorstorm (if you haven't already) or even NFS: ProStreet, which should be a step further than NFS: Carbon.
