Lauryan's Reviews

This five disc release offers all 19 episodes the sixth season of the darkly comic F/X drama Nip/Tuck, following two high class L.A. plastic surgeons who involve themselves with no shortage of potentially deadly intrigue as they cater to the vainest needs of Hollywood's rich and beautiful. Extras with the set include Tell Me What You Don't Like About Yourself, a featurette on the psychology of cosmetic surgery.

The Best For Last

Thankfully they ended this series on a high note. The writers gave the show back its dignity and the characters evolved in a way that will make fans happy! It's always sad to see a show end, but at least it's ending paid respect to the show's fans!

The second part of the fifth season is more shocking than the first! Christian marrying Liz is more realistic than many of the other plot lines, and any fan of the show knows that is just crazy. When Christian holds the pedestal for moral values, you know they have pushed the envelope too far! Why don't they re-name the show "You can't do this on TV". Shock Value has ruined the shows credibility!

The season of comedy

Moving to L.A. the show decided to poke fun at the Hollywood crowd, which provided a lot of comedy. Guest Star Bradley Cooper will keep you laughing! The bad part is the plot lines will also keep you laughing, rivaling a Soap Opera, some are quite stupid.

Julian McMahon and Dylan Walsh star as a team of plastic surgeons with decidedly different work ethics on the FX series Nip/Tuck. Slick and sexy, the show explores not only the lives of the docs, but those of the revolving door of patients they encounter. Presented in widescreen on five discs, the 13-episode first season of Nip/Tuck comes to DVD with this nicely assembled box set. The original English soundtrack has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo, and there are optional subtitles in English, Spanish, and French. Along with the episodes, the discs contain an array of bonuses. Over the course of three featurettes, viewers are given an in-depth look at everything from the makeup effects employed for the show to the realities of the cosmetic surgery business. Additionally, there are bloopers, a selection of deleted scenes, and a music video for the song "A Perfect Lie," the show's theme song by the Engine Room. A full-screen version of this set is available with the same features.

Disturbingly Perfect is no joke! This show has kept me hooked from the pilot! This is the best medical drama on TV, mixed with real characters, interesting patients, and great looking make-up. Don't bother buying them a season at a time, save money and buy the complete series!

Beware of season 3

The first two seasons were truly a Disturbingly Perfect Drama, where this season is just Disturbing! They got away from what made the show great, the patients! The shock value undercuts the honesty of the show. With this in mind, if your a fan, buy the show anyway, just make sure you get it on sale! The next season is better and there are things you need to know from the third season to watch the forth.
What's great about it: Actors
What's not so great: This year's writing
