Kenny Ortega directs Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker in the supernatural comedy Hocus Pocus, which arrives on DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, making this a pedestrian release from Disney/Buena Vista that will appeal primarily to Midler enthusiasts.

Just like any other Disney film, it is cheesy, but hey! It's entertaining and that's what matters, right? I watched this movie when I was young and still have it on VHS, I put it in when I have a chance and I'm never let down. I love the witches in this movie, it puts a comedic twist to something that culture has always portrayed as evil... This is just a entertaining film to watch when you got nothing else to do.

This is another great film from Cronenberg who portrays the two sides of the human mind, through a man with a past shrouded in mystery. He shows his caring, fatherly side, but it has a twist. Cronenberg shows that looks can be decieving, and Mortensen does a great job with his character. He decieves us into believing he wouldn't hurt a fly, but as the movie progresses we see his true nature. Cronenberg shows us the bad side of people, and A History Violence is a well thought out film with disturbing, but great scenes that contribute to the films theme. He shows us the violent side of man, that arises from within when we feel threatened and specifically with out paternal instincts. Do not miss out on this great film.

This film starts off well, but slowly begins to spiral into just pure stupid. It tries to be at the same level as other great crime films, such as Pulp Fiction and Reservoir. In its attempt to do so it fails miserably. The action is sometimes laughable and just awkward to watch, it's not a BAD film, but it's not as great as people make it out to be.

This movie proves that sequels can be better. James Cameron delivers a visually engrossing film with special effects undiscovered at the time. This film was ages ahead of its time and set a new standard for sci-fi/action films to come in the years ahead. This film is a cinematic achievement and shouldn't be missed by sci-fi or action film lovers.

What happened?! Spider Man 2 was so great, but then came along this movie... This film is all over the place with what seems to be someone being paid a last minute to write the script. At times this film is so stupid and the events that take place are just awkward...it feels like one of those low-budget action films. If Raimi makes another I HOPE it's better than this film, if not it will be the end of Spider Man. OH...and not to mention the HORRIBLE acting.
Frank Darabont's critically acclaimed, quietly popular 1994 debut The Shawshank Redemption comes to DVD in a simple presentation that features a widescreen, anamorphic transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 Audio, a stills gallery, and the theatrical trailer. With an understated, well-crafted film like this one, the focus should be on the finished work, but a Darabont commentary, filmography, "making of" featurette, and other extra features would make a nice counterpart to the film's restraint. Hopefully, Warner Home Video will see fit to release a deluxe version of The Shawshank Redemption that gives the film the treatment it deserves.

This is one of the best films to come from the american film industry. It was higly overlooked when it was released, but now watch it in all its glory. The performances are amazing, and this is possibly Tim Robbin's...well...only good performance. Let's not forget the great Morgan Freeman who does an excellent job in this film. Not one to miss.
Columbia's DVD of The Craft is a devilishly delightful disk that contains a wickedly entertaining assortment of special features. The film, about four teenage girls and their foray into the realm of witchcraft and magic, stars Fairuza Balk, Robin Tunney, Neve Campbell, and Rachel True. The movie is presented on the DVD in a widescreen format that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.35:1. The English language soundtrack is in 5.1 Dolby Digital, and is so clear that a viewer can hear an eye of newt blink. The disc contains a witches' brew of special features, including a commentary track by director Andrew Fleming, deleted scenes with optional commentary by Fleming, and a making-of featurette that details the obstacles the film faced before going into production. Other special features include an original featurette summarizing the movie, trailers, and talent files about the film's stars and the director.

I enjoyed this movie very much, and so will anyone who might be interested in Wicca. It's just the classic Good vs. Evil film with teenage girls, it's not your usual cliche film. The concept is good and I like this movie alot.

This is another great movie from Fincher--who also directed Seven, and like Seven as a very disturbing ending. I highly recommend this film...plus the performances from Pitt, Norton, and Bonham Carter are great. Helena Bonham Carter does great as " Marla Singer", a suicidal woman who ends up being Norton's love interest.

This by far one of the greatest war films ever, and yet another masterpiece by the great Stanley Kubrick. This film consists of two parts: The Training and The Fighting. The first half of the movie we get to spend with some soldiers going through basic training and then go with them to Vietnam. This film does not turn a blind eye to the atrocities that happened during Vietnam. The film also focuses greatly on the juxtaposing of ideas: wanting "Peace", yet "Born to Kill.

I recommend this movie just because of Meryl Streeps great perfromance. It was an well-deserved Oscar nod for her. This movie is funny overall, and it gives some comical insight into the world of fashion... It's just the kind of movie you watch when there's nothing else to do and you end up loving.
