What Apple TV Wishes It Could Be

I've owned several Apple TV units, including the latest generation. Glitches, issues with holding internet connection, and the lack of Amazon access, led me to the purchase of this Roku Ultra.
BEAUTIFUL interface, love the ability to pick a theme, and I LOVE getting a 4K picture. Even though the remote is larger than that of the Apple TV, it does make it a lot easier to use, and does not fall between the couch cushions the way the Apple remote does. I also love being able to listen to tv over headphones connected to the remote. Such a great idea!
Tons of apps, tons of ways to watch what you want, and just a great user interface. Probably will get another one to replace the older Apple TV that my parents have. Just a superior product, with a better remote.

Good, but not great...

This is our third generation of Apple TVs. It's the best that Apple has done, for sure. However, the remote and it's touch interface can be pretty maddening at times. Very touchy, and does not always work as advertised. Voice commands are iffy at best, and often route you right back to the iTunes store in an attempt to get you to buy/rent from Apple.
We've had this unit for over a year, and it is having some serious issues. Often just stops playing, even with a strong signal and plenty of bandwidth/speed. Remote often glitches out, and will not function at all. Quite frustrating.
Will not play Amazon Prime video, either. Really? Come on Apple. And why will Apple not support video streaming in 4K?
Apple used to be my "go-to" company, as their products just worked. In the past couple of years, Apple seems to have strayed from this mindset. I have to reset this unit constantly, just to watch Netflix. Purchased a Roku Elite recently, and it's a much better option. Just works... and works in 4K.

My iPhone finally met it's match...

I owned the original Motorola Droid when Android first came out. While it was good, my first iPhone, a 3GS, was just better. I have since owned every iPhone up to my latest, a 64GB iPhone 6S Plus. Don't get me wrong, the iPhone was fine... but after trying the new lineup of Galaxy phones, I'd say that Samsung has finally done it... they have finally developed a phone that is as good, or better than the iPhone. I never thought it would be possible, but this S7 Edge has firmly planted itself my household of Apple products.
The pros...
FAST processor
Vastly superior display... looks amazing!
Love that I can reach the entire screen with one hand
Marshmallow is great to use, and beautiful to look at.
SO much more customization than with iOS.
Great battery life
Camera absolutely KILLS my iPhone camera.
Seriously, this is a VERY nice looking phone!

Honestly, this is nothing more than a glorified Fit Bit. Sure, it tells time and can do other things, but once the novelty wears off, you don't end up using it that much. Apps are slow (even with Watch OS3) and the ability to "customize" this is a joke. You can change a few basic things, but that's it. Save your money, get something more useful.

We have an older Shark vacuum, and it has been stellar for all the years we have owned it. However, we liked the lift away and canister features, plus the dust bin on this new model is MUCH larger, which requires less emptying. Great suction, and all of the attachments work well, and fit on the vacuum somewhere. Shark knocked it out of the park with this one. WELL worth the money, and out performs anything else I've tried, including Dyson.

Fast, thin, light, and powerful

Upgraded from the thicker Macbook Pro that we have owned for a couple of years. This newer Macbook Pro is about half the thickness, has a bit smaller form factor, but with a better screen. You really can tell the difference in the screens, although the non-retina screen is no slouch.
Speed is better, as the Solid State Drive starts up quickly, and programs/commands respond in a snap. Only downside is the smaller hard drives in these models. Of course, you can get more memory, but it costs a lot to upgrade. For not a lot of coin, you can pick up an external portable drive, which seems to work just fine for my needs. Between my 2 TB portable drive, and my Dropbox account, I have not encountered any issues with having a 128Gb hard drive. At the sale price I got this thing, I just couldn't pass up the upgrades.
Apple makes great computers, and OS X absolutely KILLS Windows, even Windows 10. Solid, and reliable operating system. Just a great computer. Compared this one to the the Macbook Air, and the specs of the Pro are just better in every way. Twice the RAM, much faster processors, and a better graphics card. Just a beefier computer! Spend the extra money on a Mac, you will not regret it.

Good... with an oddity

Pretty easy to install, holds tv well, seems sturdy. However, to get the portion of the bracket that is attached to the tv to release from the wall portion of the mount, you have to pull a couple of strings that are connected to the mount. Not a big deal, but they just look kinda odd hanging down behind the tv once it's installed. Couldn't this also be a hazard with children?

I love this toaster... I mean, it just makes great toast! I love the digital settings, and the meter that shows you how much time is left before the toast is done. The electronic raise/lower feature is very cool. Perfect toast every time. Worth the money.

Just an outstanding product for the money!

We needed a great computer for our high school-aged daughter, but did not want to break the bank. Looked at the Surface tablet, and iPad Air 2 with keyboards, but the iPad was still somewhat limited on both screen size and not being able to use a mouse. Surface was nice, but with an Atom processor, seemed a bit underpowered. Plus, BOTH of the tablets cost quite a bit more than this Toshiba.
Performance from the 6 GB of RAM and i3 processor are very good. Is it the fastest computer on the planet? Of course not, but for student and common everyday use, it is more than capable. No lag, quick startup, and plenty of hard drive storage.
Construction is thin, but has enough weight to it to feel solid and well built. Screen is bright, clear, and the touch surface works extremely well. I love the fact that it will fold backwards (which disables the keyboard) and becomes a stand for the screen if you just want to use it in touchscreen mode while sitting in your lap or on a table. Keyboard has a nice feel, and the keys rebound nicely. Very smooth to type on.
Battery life has been outstanding. We regularly get at least 6 hours out of it, and that's with the screen near maximum brightness.
We have been a Mac family for quite a while, and I have to say... Windows 10 is not bad at all. Works well, performs quickly, and does not freeze up. After the fiasco that was Windows 8, this is very nice. Good job Microsoft.
Lastly, the trackpad is very good. LOVE the fact that they have started using "gestures" to navigate in the same basic way that Apple does. Not having any buttons is much better, and works quite well.
Caught this on sale, and what a great deal it was! When you first fire it up, you might think it is moving a bit slow. This is just the computer doing all of the updates, setting things up, etc. After the first couple of hours, it got quite speedy, and has stayed that way.

The thinnest iPad ever is also the most capable. It's loaded with advanced technologies, including the Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

I've had 3 different iPads (original, retina model, and this one) and this is by far the best of them all. Lighter, FASTER, and smaller in form. Simply a great tablet!

How do i turn on the backlit keyboard?
So i bought this computer today (windows 10). Same exact model and everything. I just cant seem to find out how to turn on the backlight. Its not in the manual or anything. Unless it was advertised wrong. I mean this is one of the reasons i bought the laptop. It gave it sort of a high end feel.
this model does not have a backlit keyboard. It must have been advertised incorrectly.

BLUETOOTH QUESTION
My car is equipped with Bluetooth already. I simply need the navigation. Is this the right GPS for my car? My calls come over my speaker system. Should I purchase the GPS without the Bluetooth?
My iPhone 6 will connect to both my car bluetooth for calls, and this GPS for other features. Has worked perfectly.
