Remembering the previous Doom games from PC and PS1 back in the day, this game is an excellent compliment to those titles. You are able to customize the weapons deeply, along with armor and vitals upgrades. I found out after I had played a while, every level has a secret area not on the maps. This secret area sends you into a pixelated "level" that looks like the old school Doom games. Far as I can tell it is a handle in the ground you need to look for to find them. You are able to use the new game weapons however, not something I was a fan of. I would like to have seen a total rewind of all aspects of the classic levels being a fan of the first games. That is my only gripe of this game, I have not played the multiplayer at all yet so I cannot comment on that mode.

catch them on a deal

When these go on sale a few times a year is the best time to get them. Most of the time around November to January they might go on a discount. Use them as soon as possible, I have had an issue with a stale code that I did not use for a year after purchasing.

If you are a fan of Rockstar's games at all, you will enjoy this game. Much better than RDR, big improvements on all aspects of gameplay. Cars have actual manufactor names, massive free roam area for game content, very clean new gameplay engine. Being that it is based on police/detective work, pay attention to the rating if considering it for minors as some of the scenes are pretty graphic. Red Dead Redemption was a great, having played it I was not sure that this game would appeal to me. But it is a very enjoyable experience.
What's great about it: another step up for Rockstar
What's not so great: nothing, I like it all
