The Force Case by CASETiFY for Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Devices - Black is a well designed and highly protective impact/bump case.
The case itself has a well thought out design that addresses the S26 Ultra's camera configuration, buttons, and ports. I especially like how the case addresses the rocker style volume button by having a two button arrangement on the case. One for volume up and one for volume down.
Additionally, the case does not crowd out the USB-C port or the stylus access area on the bottom of the case.
With 3x the miltary grade of drop protection the case is rated to protect the phone form a 6.6 foot drop from all angles. This is outstanding!
The case is a matte finish case with a grippy texture for a good feel in one's hand. This also allows the case to easily slip in and out of one's pocket.
I found putting the phone into the case fairly easy. Once there the case is snug and secure as one would expect it to be! I can also easliy remove the phone from the case should I need to do so.
This case is Magnetic compatible and allows the phone to charge wirelessly without removing tge case.
One feature of cases that I have enjoyed on other cases is an integrated kickstand. It being missing from this case is a minor disappointment ( they do offer add on stands). I am also a fan of having a holster option that I don't see available on the CASETiFY website.
Overall this is an excellent case that I highly recommend should it meet your specific needs. A case like this is an excellent insurace policy for your cell phone investment.

My testing setup consisted of a Laptop with an HDMI output and two monitors with HDMI Inputs. Setup was quick and easy and consisted of connecting the laptop to the Input port of the splitter with an HDMI cable (not included) and the two monitors to the output ports of the splitter with an HDMI cable for each (not included) and then connecting the included power adapter and included USB cable to the splitter and plugging in the power adapter. Turning on the monitors and setting their input to the HDMI port resulted in each receiving the video and audio output from the laptop.
A few notable items found in the user guide:
- For 8K resolution support the HDMI cables should be HDMI 2.1 and be no more than 9.84 ft/ 3 m in length.
- For 4K resolution support the HDMI cables should be HDMI 2.0 cables and be no more than 16.4 ft/ 5 m in length.
- Actual output resolution is related to the host, display, cables and your HDMI splitter's configuration.
- For 4K resolution support the HDMI cables should be HDMI 2.0 cables and be no more than 16.4 ft/ 5 m in length.
- Actual output resolution is related to the host, display, cables and your HDMI splitter's configuration.
From there is was use the laptop as normal with each monitor receiving a copy of the output. I could easily see this device being used to support trade show setups or other use cases where having mirrored output would be useful. I could also see this driving two television units for displaying video and/audio for sporting, religious, or community events.

The JLABS JBUDS PODS ANC True wireless earbuds (model: EBJBPODSRBLK124) are a great sounding set of earbuds. They have a wide range of capabilities and sound well across the spectrum of music. While they may not hit the highest of highs and the lowest of the lows – they will do the job and do it well.
Let’s discuss the features of this set of earbuds. First, these are True Wireless earbuds via Bluetooth 5.4 with multi-point connectivity (2 devices at the same time) and are powered by built-in 50mAh 3.8V Lithium polymer batteries rated for up to 10 hours in the earbuds and 46+ hours from the charging case (500mAh 3.7V) for a total rated time of 56+ hours (your time will vary) of battery life. This model has a new feature called Google Fast Pair for Android devices that makes them very easy to connect to them from an android device. My wife said these were awesomely easy for her to connect to – and she loved that capability.
They feature touch controls on both pods, auto on, the ability to use either bud in a solo mode, can work with phone assistants, have good audio quality, microphones in both pods, a noise isolating fit, and IP55 dust and water resistance for the earbuds only. The earbuds come with 3 sets of gel tips (S, M, and L) so that the fit can be customized. The ear buds come with wear detect sensors so that music can be paused and restarted as needed when either pod is removed from the ear. The device can be charged via a USB-C Cable (very short cable included) or via Wireless charging. These also come with a limited 2-year warranty and a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
The touch controls are all the controls you would expect for controlling the earbuds. Some of the controls are divided across the two earbuds; for example, one press on the left earbud decreases volume and a single press on the right earbud increases volume. Please see the accompanying picture for the remaining controls.
This device can switch between movie and music modes. Movie mode enables a low-latency connection, which means a decreased range, to help reduce audio lag so that voices sync to the video screen when you are watching movies. To enable movie mode, you must use the JLab App. The JLab app also enables maintenance and further personalization of your experience via the ANC, Be Aware Mode, and EQ settings.
One awesome feature of the JLab app is that it has an interval timer built in that can support your workouts and you can set the time on and time off to specify your intervals. I tested this listening to a YouTube video, and it works well. My wife thinks that with this feature these ear pods will quickly become her favorite!
In ear devices are not my first choice in audio devices, these were comfortable but as is typical for me it took only one trip down our stairs for one of them to fall out of my ear. When testing the earbuds, I called my wife to see how the JLABS JBUDS Air Pro work for voice calls. My wife describes the sound on the receiving end as good and crisp without any crackling. She didn’t hear any static as sometimes happens with earbud mics. There was no cutting out or skipped words, even while I was walking around using them (a known issue we have experienced with other earbud mics.)
Overall, in my testing these earbuds performed well and sounded good for both calls and audio and would be a good addition for anyone who likes to use earbuds for their audio needs. Listening to Bohemian Rhapsody on these was a good experience. The cross-channel sounds were detectable and flowed nicely across the “sound stage”. The devices have great features and sound great making them a wonderful choice for earbuds.

The Hyperdrive® Flex 8 port USB-C hub is a well provisioned USB-C Hub that can support many users' needs for a USB-C Hub. This device nearly meets all of my expectations for such a device. Let’s talk about specifications and features and then we’ll discuss the use cases the device meets and one where improvements could be made.

Further details on the specification of these ports can be seen in the accompanying picture. The ports are all connected via a USB-C host connection that is a USB 3.2 Gen 1 5Gbps PD 3.0 Passthrough support 5V/1.5A, 9V/2A, 15V/2A, 20V/4.25A, max chagrining power 85W.
Overall, this device will meet most users’ needs for expanding the connectors on a laptop of other device – especially if said device has lees USB-C ports that you need to run things on or only has USB-C ports and you have use cases for other ports – such as the USB-A or SD card ports. Each of the ports should have sufficient speed for rapid file transfers regardless of the media that is being used.
The device is well constructed, despite being primarily made of plastic for the housing. The H++ logo that even lights up when it is connected to add some ambience to the device.
The one area that I believe misses the mark on this device is that the USB-C connector does not have Display port capabilities. Now this might be a cost savings choice made by the manufacturer, but I believe it is a bit of a miss. This does not detract from the capability is does offer, it’s just a capability I expected when is saw the term Hub used in the product name.

The ASUS MV500 Mini Tower is an extremely nice general-purpose computer with a great set of features to enable families to elevate their computing tasks including school, entertainment and gaming. The system is capable and comes with Windows 11 Home, can support up to a Core™ i7-13620H processor, with to 64GB of DDR5 RAM and Up to 2TB + 2TB SSD +HDD support dual upgradable M.2 slots.
The specific model (model Number: V500MVC-I51TB) reviewed here is a Core™ i5-13420H processor with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. This model runs with Intel UHD Graphics, integrated with the motherboard and has an HDMI 1.4 and a DisplayPort 1.4 for connecting monitors. I can confirm that these ports will each drive a 4K 27” monitor at 3840 x 2160 resolution. The motherboard does have 1 open PCI-E x16 slot that can support up to a GeForce RTX™ 4060 graphics card.
For USB ports the system has 4 x USB-A 2.0, 2 x USB-A 3.2, 1 x USB-C 3.2 with two of the USB-A-2.0 slots being designated for the keyboard and mouse to support USB K/B power on functionality. The 2 USB-A 3,2 and the USB-C 3.2 ports are front mounted for ease of access. Additional connectivity options include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 6 with integrated 2x2 antennas to provide for strong, reliable wireless connections.
This system uses a cooling fan and heat pipe cooling solution that ensures a quiet operation – coming in under 38 dB in performance mode and can be reduced to 0db when the fan is not in operation. I had at times had to check and see if the system was still on.
With all this good, you may be wondering what the downsides are. Ther are very few. While expansion is limited, a quick look at the Maintenance manual (downloadable from the ASUS site provides instructions for adding devices) there are instructions for adding a slimline optical drive, and a hard drive – which mounts to the front end of the case in a vertical manner and both devices connect to the motherboard for power and data (see accompanying images) . Additionally, there is an ability to add a second solid state drive as well as the ability to upgrade the RAM – which is SODIMM based and has 2 slots for memory. These are very nice options to be able to improve the capabilities of the system. The reality is that many people use external devices these days to provide for expanded drive capacity and versatility and as such this system continues to shine.
Overall, I believe that this is an extremely nice mini tower-based system that provides a lot of versatility and usefulness to its users. For me, this machine will be replacing an eight-year-old tower PC that is not upgradable to Windows 11. I look forward to using this machine for quite some time.

The Alienware 27 4K Dual-Resolution Gaming Monitor - AW2725QF is an extremely nice monitor that has several nice features and a few challenging limitations. The most intriguing feature is its Dual-resolution capabilities that allow it to run at one of 2 refresh rates. It can run at a resolution of 3840 x 2160 with a refresh rate of up to 180 Hz (4K mode) (overclock up to 180 Hz) or it can run at a 1920 x 1080 resolution with a refresh rate of up to 360 Hz (FHD mode) (overclock up to 360 Hz). The first mode prioritizes details in the games and the second prioritizes fast gameplay. Additionally, the monitor is NVIDIA® G-SYNC® Compatible and comes with VESA AdaptiveSync certification allowing for stutter-free, tear-free and crystal-clear graphics in both modes. Finally, its 0.5ms gray-to-gray response time reduces blurring and ghosting in both modes.
In addition to it’s wonderful PC gaming capabilities, this monito also sports a dedicated console mode that “allows users to customize color, gamma, and HDR source tone mapping to give the ultimate 4K Dolby Vision gaming experience on consoles.” Console gaming is further enhanced via 3 features, first – “seeing the highest detail in 4K at a 120Hz refresh rate with compatible console games from high-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 FRL”; second – “ensuring fluid movement, plus extra responsiveness on a controller while console gaming, with variable refresh rate (VRR) and auto low latency mode (ALLM) support”, and third – “hearing every detail when you connect your Dolby Atmos speakers and sound bars thanks to eARC compatibility.”
Due to the need to support the amazing levels of detail that this monitor can display while gaming, it also makes it very suitable for content creators who focus on precise color work via creator mode. This mode allows one to choose either the native DCI-P3 and the sRGB color spaces as well as the ability to adjust the gamma settings. Finally adding to this is the ability of the monitor to view multiple PC sources via Picture-in-picture (PiP) and Picture-by-picture (PbP) simultaneously as one’s needs dictate.

This is an extremely nice 27” 4K monitor and has lots of useful features and abilities for gamers, creatives, and non-gamers alike. While is primary appeal is to gamers, especially those who game in the high framerate action style games; it does have uses for business users as well – especially designers and creatives doing color work. The native brightness mode is a bit dimmer than my other monitors in my set up, but I have yet to make fine adjustments to it.
This is an extremely nice 27” 4K monitor and has lots of useful features and abilities for gamers, creatives, and non-gamers alike. While is primary appeal is to gamers, especially those who game in the high framerate action style games; it does have uses for business users as well – especially designers and creatives doing color work. The native brightness mode is a bit dimmer than my other monitors in my set up, but I have yet to make fine adjustments to it.
Two words of caution and a lesson learned from my experience so far. First - Make sure that the monitor has all the capabilities that are important to you by reading the actual manual. In my case this was that the monitor does support VESA mounting – which I prefer. Second, my tower that I use as one of my two main computers is a bit dated and apparently it graphics card does not like booting with this monitor set in the FHD @ 360Hz mode, but boots fine with the monitor in its 4K mode with the 3840X2160 resolution.

HMD Vibe gives you smooth performance, even while running multiple apps, for up to 2 days between charges. And it does this for less than you~d expect. It~s not lacking in the camera department, either ~ thanks to advanced AI modes, all you have to do is strike a pose, snap away and share.

Decent Budget Smartphone with room for Improvement

Yes! It’s true – a Reliable Budget Smartphone!
The HMD Vibe is a budget smartphone made by HMD Global, a.k.a. Human Mobile Devices, a Finnish independent mobile phone manufacturer. HMD is made up of the mobile phone business that Nokia Corporation sold to Microsoft in 2014 and then bought back in 2016. HMD holds the exclusive rights to Nokia smartphones via a licensing agreement. I find the idea of a reliable budget smartphone very appealing as several years ago I decided to stop “keeping up with the Jones” concerning the need to purchase the latest and greatest smartphone. Since July of 2021, I have been using a refurbished Galaxy S10 as my primary phone.
The HMD Vibe is a nice entry-level smartphone. This is especially true when you consider its price point. The device features a Snapdragon 680 processor with a total of 8 cores, 6GB of RAM, and 128 GB of Storage in the model I evaluated. It will also support microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC memory cards up to 512 GB to provide more storage. The screen is a 6.56 in, 20:9 aspect ratio screen with a 720x1612 resolution that is bright and crisp and has adaptive backlighting. The screen also supports an adaptive refresh rate that can adjust the screen anywhere from 60Hz to 90Hz. This adaptive refresh rate aids in smoother visual effects and scrolling but does come at the expense of a larger drain on the battery but it does not seem to be a large drain. The device supports several network frequencies, but none are 5G. For my carrier 600Mhz support is key for the best capabilities in both 4G and 5G and this device does not support that frequency. Thus, I get a limited compatibility rating. I have included a copy of a frequency chart I found online in the images. Finally, this phone is an Android 14 device with no plans for any OS upgrades and only 2 years of Security updates.
Speaking of battery – the device contains a 4000 mAh AI-assisted battery, UISB-C Charging. One item to note is that while the phone does include a USB-C cable for charging, a power block is not included to aid in keeping the price point lower. The battery is rated at an “up to 2-day battery life”.
The cameras on this device are ok but are not the best. The rear camera is a 13MP+2MP dual camera (with the 2MP camera providing depth). on the rear and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. The rear camera has HDR and AI imaging built in. An added feature is night mode on the camera to take night shots. The two sample shots included in the images has one in night mode and one not in night mode
My experience using this device says that it performs ok, and the battery has lasted for longer than the listed time, but I had lighter usage during my testing. I would imagine under more rigorous usage that the battery would not last nearly as long. Web browsing was just as good as my current phone and got me to the page/articles/messages I was looking for. The pictures I took were not great with graininess noted.
Since this is a newer phone manufacturer, I decided to see what the case and holster market was for this device and found it to be quite lacking. While I found many cases the only one, I found close to being in my preferred holster style was a case with an integrated belt clip and case and not a true holster style.
Pros: Performance, Affordable, wide US network compatibility, headphone jack
Cons: Incomplete network compatibility on my preferred carrier, cameras are lacking

The JLab Epic Sport ANC 3 True Earbuds (model: EBEPICSPT3RBLK82) are a great sounding set of earbuds. They have a wide range of capabilities and sound well across the spectrum of music. These are a very secure set of in-ear ears buds that have a built-in set of ear hooks that make these the most secure fitting earbuds that I have evaluated. These earbuds are built for exercise – including rigorous exercise. JLab calls these “their most premium sports earbuds ever.”
Ear Bud Features
First, these are True Wireless In-Ear earbuds via Bluetooth 5.3 with multi-point connectivity (2 devices at the same time) and are powered by built-in Lithium polymer batteries rated for 12+ hours “each” in the earbuds (with ANC off) and 40+ hours from the charging case for a total rated time of 52+ hours (your time will vary) of battery life. They feature touch and swipe controls on both pods, auto on, the ability to use either bud in a solo mode, can work with phone assistants, have good audio quality, microphones in both pods, a noise isolating fit, and IP66 Sweatproof resistance for the earbuds only. The earbuds come with 3 sets of gel tips (S, M, and L) so that the fit can be customized. They also come with three sets of silicone gel tips to aid in the fit of the buds to the ear (medium installed, small and large come as alternatives / spares). The ear buds come with wear detect sensors so that music can be paused and restarted as needed when either pod is removed from the ear. The charging case has an integrated cable (USB-C) that folds into the case for ease of storage and features wireless charging, and a charging port to provide yet another options for charging (say with a USB A-C cable). These also come with a 2-year parts and labor warranty.
The touch controls are symmetrical (both buds have the same controls) and are the controls you would expect for powering the earbuds on/off, answering/ending/ignoring calls, voice assistant, music play/pause, and skipping tracks. A long press on the controls will control the automatic noise control features, between On, Off, and Be Aware. Be Aware, allows one to listen but still hear the surrounding area for safe listening. Tapping 5 times toggles the Spatial Audio on or off, Spatial Audio is a “surround-sound” like mode that enhances the sound of anything you are listening to. Tapping both the left and right touch sensors cycles the EQ settings from “JLab Signature” (default with amplified vocals and bass), to “Knowles Preferred” (balanced armature), to “Bass Boost” (amplified bass and sub-bass), and finally “Custom” that can be configured in the JLab app. The EQ mode is indicated with voice prompts. In ear devices are not my first choice in audio devices, however these I found to be the best earbuds as far as staying securely on one’s ears that I have tried. One thing to remember is the best way to put on earbuds with ear hooks is to place the earbud into the ear while the hook is at the front of the ear and then rotate the earbud so that the hook is securely placed on one’s ear.
JLab app, which is technically optional, allows one to control most aspects of these earbuds right from the app. Once paired with your device and the app is installed and open you can see a list of the JLab devices you have and then clicking on the one you want to control is a tap away. For this model of earbuds you have the following controls – Noise Control modes, Interval Timer (helps with interval exercise routines while listening), Equalizer settings, Touch controls, Spatial audio, turn on/off the auto play/pause sensors, set the device to music or movie mode (this is a low latency mode to enhance watching movies), turn on safe hearing to control volume, and finally update the firmware of the earbuds.
Overall, in my testing, these earbuds performed well and sounded good for both calls and audio and would be a good addition for anyone who likes to use earbuds for their audio needs; especially audio needs pertaining to vigorous exercise activities where a securely fitting earbud is essential.
Pros: Great value, Charging options (integrated cable, wireless, extra port)
Cons: Not the best earbuds for side sleepers, changing EQ settings requires either both hands, or using the app.

Additional key features include 2.5G Wired Connectivity with each of the two ports being able to support operation as either a WAN or a LAN port (only one mode at a time); the ability to connect over 150 devices (which can support using these devices for an IoT network), Multi-link operation, Wireless and wired combined backhaul capabilities, and 4K-QAM. The backhaul capabilities allow each connection – 5 GHz, and 2.4 GHz wireless, and the Ethernet wired connections to be aggregated to “greatly improve overall throughput and reduces latency, delivering broader coverage with more stable and reliable connections”.
The Homeshield services are built-in to the unit and are there to allow one to provide protection for your devices (including both at home and one the go). This includes Network Protection, Parental Controls, and through KidShield, “parents can monitor their kids’ locations. This way, kids stay digitally protected even on the go.” It is worth repeating that some of these features are considered advanced and require a subscription.
Setup is accomplished in a few easy steps. First one downloads the Deco app to their mobile device and establishes an account. Next, one connects the first unit to a modem and power on the unit, next follow the in-app instructions to connect the first unit. This first unit is the one that connects to your modem’s LAN port or to an existing network via a wired connection. A quick scan of the unit’s QR code is all the app needs to begin the setup process. Once this unit is set up the remaining units follow suit and are scanned and then added to the Network as they will use the first unit configured as the main unit in the mesh. Once the network is established the units work seamlessly to allow you to roam throughout your home using the single network name.
My home network is a 1GB Fiber based network and running speed test through the Deco app resulted in typical speeds for my network – 544 Mbps down and 786 Mbps up.
The only downside I was seeing to these devices is that each on has a light on it to signify its connection mode – I recently found and app setting that allows this light to be adjusted between “Always on (default)”, “Always off”, and “Scheduled off” (with the default schedule being 10 pm to 7 am the next day). This is a great feature for when the units are in areas where an “always on” light might interfere with one’s ability to sleep. Also being able to turn it off should reduce the device’s power consumption to some degree, resulting in cost savings.
Overall, I have found the addition of this Mesh Wi-Fi system to be a good addition to my network and the use of it has helped improve the performance of at least one of my streaming devices which has been suffering from lagging for the last few months. The Deco family of products are all compatible with one another and this affords one to add additional units to your mesh network including Outdoor units, Power over Ethernet units, and Powerline units for building with thick walls.

The Samsung - Galaxy Book4 360 2-in-1 15.6" FHD AMOLED Touch Screen Laptop is a nicely outfitted laptop for general use. It has excellent compatibility when you are using a Samsung Galaxy phone along side it as well. In my testing I found this Windows 11 based system powered by an Intel Core 7 Series 1 150U Evo Processer paired with 16 GB of Low-power Double Data (LPDDR5) rate RAM and a 512 GB NVMe SSD to be quite a useful machine.
The screen of this laptop is a 15.6 AMOLED FHD (1920x1080) Touch screen with a 370 Nits brightness, and it is a beautiful screen. Additional features of this device include 1 HDMI 1.4 and 2 Thunderbolt 4 Display connectors. The Thunderbolt 4 connectors of course also act as USB-C ports. Charging ports, in addition to their ability to drive external displays. It also boasts a USB-A 3.2 connector and a MicroSD card slot that can support 2TB of additional storage. The device weighs 3.8 lbs. with its power cable included, has WI-FI 6E using the AX standard. The system’s lithium-ion battery is rated at 22 hours and 4405 mAh. This laptop has good sound for a 2W x 2 stereo speaker system. The audio testing I performed had good spatial sounds and full sounding spectrum. This is due to the Dolby Atmos audio technology involved with the sound system. Since this is a 2-in-1 system (laptop and tablet) the speakers are pointed out of the bottom of the device and this placement could aid the sound based on the surface the device is resting on. This also means it can be used in “presenter mode” where the screen is facing the user, and the keyboard is on the surface the device is resting on, placing the speakers facing up and behind the screen – making it a good solution for streaming video. In reading the device’s documentation this device will support the S Pen Pro Edition and S Pen Creator Edition (not included in this package) adding to the device’s usage in its tablet mode. Finally, the device supports Copilot personal AI assistance.

I was able to run the primary display and all four 4 external displays including an external 4K display for a total of 5 displays.

Will this fit a 2012 Volvo XC 60?
It should work and you might have to get an extension cable to route the rear-facing camera. Since your vehicle has a hatchback - routing the cable through the wiring harness and onto the glass will present challenges.

It has one tray that can use Letter or legal and holds 250 sheets. It does have a single-sheet manual feed tray also.
