Magnificently sounding High-end Smart Home Speaker

The JBL Authentics 300 is a high-end portable home smart speaker that has a retro style and modern features that allow one to fill the areas it is used in with incredible stereo sound for the highest of the highs to some impressive lows. In summary, if you have a need for a high-end and portable home smart speaker, this may be the device for you!
Features
Let’s kick this review off with a review of this device’s features. Since this is a home speaker let’s start off with the details on the speakers that provide this device with the awesome sound it produces. It starts with the main speakers – a pair of 25mm tweeters for the details, a 5.25-inch woofer and down-firing 6.5-inch passive radiator to deliver deep-bass. I can certainly attest to the bass as one of my test tracks is The Imperial march from Star Wars (you know Darth Vader’s entrance music) and I had the device on my lap and the passive radiator was pulsing on my legs throughout the song.
This speaker can be connected in several ways including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Aux / 3.5 mm audio cable, and in the US via USB-C device for MP3 playback.
Since this is a portable home speaker it can be plugged into AC power and contains a 4800 Mah Lithium battery that runs at 3.6 Volts and allows for up to 8 hours of playing time. The battery recharges in 3.5 hours. The devices dimensions are bit on the large side for a portable speaker with dimensions (W x H x D) of 15.9" x 10.7" x 10.7" (342 x 195.6 x 180.3 mm) and coming in at a hefty 10.8 lbs. (4.9 kg).
The audio features are numerous and impressive. First up it that music services are available via built-in Wi-Fi and allows one to experience your audio in “stunning high definition”. The device supports AirPlay, Alexa Multi-Room Music (MRM), Chromecast built-in™, and Spotify Connect. The device also provides for both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa simultaneously, allowing greater versatility in controlling multiple smart home devices. The device contains intuitive physical controls and allows for even more control and personalization via the JBL One app.
Impressions
I will repeat my opening statement – this device has incredible audio output and a wonderful range, even at respectable volumes. I listened to numerous common test tracks and the device came through each of them with no issues present to my ears. Some of the test tracks include Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”, Ana Taylor Joy’s “Downtown (Downtempo)”, Steely Dan’s “Aja”, and 1812 Overture with real cannons, “The Imperial March” from Star Wars, and Saint-Saens “Organ Symphony”, to name a few of the tracks I used.
Pros: Awesome Sound, Connection Options, Portability
Cons: Weight and Size

The Dell XPS 15 model 9530 is another in a line of impressive high-end laptops oriented towards the creative user. This laptop is an Evo Design unit and comes outfitted with a 13th generation core i7-13700H processor, Intel Arc™ A370M Graphics and its 4-sided InfinityEdge non-touch FHD+ (1920x1200) display allows for plenty of room to create on. This model also comes with a 512GB NVMe SSD and 16 GB of DDR5 RAM.
The device is outfitted with Wi-Fi 6 AX wireless and Bluetooth. For ports, it is also well proportioned with 2 Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C ports with Power Delivery on the left side. On the right, it has a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with Power Delivery/Display Port, an SD card slot, and a wired headset port. Rounding out the impressive features of this laptop is the sound system. It features a quad-speaker system with Waves Nx 3D Audio and has 2 Stereo Woofers rated at 2.5 W each and stereo tweeters rated at 1.5W each for a total of 8W of total peak audio. . Any of the 3 USB C-Type ports can be used to charge the laptop, which is a convenient feature. The device is shipped with a 130-Watt Type-C power adapter and a USB-C to USB-A v3.0 & HDMI v2.0 adapter.
The laptop is manufactured from CNC Machined Aluminum with a carbon fiber composite palm rest that includes a massive 5.91 in. X 3.54 in. Touchpad. This manufacturing and the 86Whr battery result in a sturdy 4.21 lbs. for the laptop. While a bit high for today's travel standards, this does not concern me too much should one need the capability offered by this system while on the road.
Usage Impressions
The screen is wonderful, has good responsiveness and contrast. The sound system was next up for testing and it is equally impressive while listening to numerous test songs that I use for testing audio devices.

Performance was tested by rendering a nearly hour-long video that was handled without a hiccup.
The system comes with a 6-cell, 86WHr battery. The battery life is also impressive and lasted for several days of regular use of a few hours each day. I would say that it has no issue exceeding 7 hours of life.
The last area tested was multi-monitor support and I was able to run the primary display and 4 external displays including an external 4K display for a total of 5 displays (one via USB Display Link).
Summary
The XPS 15 is an impressive laptop. It has outstanding features and capabilities.

The Insignia™ - 14-Bottle Wine Cooler - Stainless steel is a good and straight froward wine cooler that is designed to hold up to 14 standard wine bottles. 10 of these are on the top 2 racks that have the top of the bottles facing out ready to grab and serve. The other 4 bottles are on the lower rack in a 2x2 sideways configuration. This lower rack might be able to handle one, maybe two Magnum sized bottles - I did not have any to to test this though. The manual says it is for standard wine bottles only and to not have them touch the back of the cooler to ensure good air circulation - which the racks inside are designed to prevent. The device comes with a limited 1-year warranty.
This cooler measures 18.5 inches wide, 19.5 inches tall and 17-5/16 inches deep and the manual states it needs 4 inches of cooling space on all sides and with a 4 foot cord it has to be placed carefully - likely on top of a counter or a stand, since it is so short.
The device has 3 main settings for temperatures - cold (the warmest at 59 to 68 degrees F), Normal (48 to 59 degrees F, and Colder (39 to 48 degrees F). The manual includes a nice chart to aide one in setting the cooler temperature based on the wine you are storing within.
Overall during my testing I have found this to be a good starter wine cooler that does the job it is intended to do,. The manual cautions storing other types of drinks - such and beer and soft drinks within, but does not explain why they should not be stored within.
The downsides of this being a starter cooler is that it is a no frills device and as such does not have a temperature reading nor a light within. Another downside is that the cooler does use a flammable refrigerant and has cautions and warnings about it on the cooler. It would be nice of this could be avoided in future versions of the cooler.

The JVC Marshmallow True wireless earbuds (model HA-A18T) are a great sounding set of earbuds. They have a wide range of capabilities and sound well across the spectrum of music – from highs to lows and the midranges these earbuds sound excellent.
Let’s start off with the features of this set of earbuds. First, these are Bluetooth 5.3 earbuds and are of course powered by built-in Lithium-ion batteries rated for up to 28 hours of battery life. This battery life rating includes the carrying case battery (20.5 hours) being used to recharge the pods with are rated at 7.5 hours. They feature low latency – to aid in playing videos and gaming, have touch controls on both pods, a detection sensor to control the pausing and playing of audio, voice assistant, 3 sound modes (Normal, Clear, and Bass) to adjust the sound to your liking, dual microphones to aid in their performance for making phone calls. They are also Sweat and Rainproof with an IPX4 rating. They also allow for single ear use in either ear.
The touch controls are all the controls you would expect for powering the earbuds on/off, answering/ending/ignoring calls, music play/pause, and skipping tracks, and one to enable low latency mode. They also feature auto On/Off and connect capabilities.
The earbuds come with 5 sets of tips – 2 memory foam (S and M) and 3 Silicone (S, M, and L) so that the fit can be customized. The package also has a charging cable for the case – which is USB-C based.

Overall, in my testing these earbuds performed well and sounded great for both calls and audio and would be a good addition for anyone who likes to use earbuds for their audio needs. The only minor item noted for these while testing them was when walking into the wind while testing them on a call, my wife was able to hear some wind noise that was noticeable but did not overpower my voice – when walking down wind this was not noticeable.

The Conair Lithium-Ion High-Performance Metal Clipper & Trimmer set (Model: HC6500) is an extremely nice metal clipper and trimmer set that performs well and has outstanding features. Chief among these features is the fact that this is a cordless, rechargeable Clipper and Trimmer. This feature keeps one from needing to have a wall outlet nearby to use the device. It also makes it very convenient for travel. It is powered by a Lithium-ion battery pack that boasts a 2-hour run time while holding a charge longer. The runtime is more than enough for my needs (I have not yet had to recharge the unit since having this device for nearly 3 weeks). The motor is strong with a high-torque and a 7,200 RPM speed, this enables the device to make trimming very efficient and well as helping to avoid nicks. The knurled grip of the handle makes this device easy to control regardless of the orientation one is using for a particular pass with the clipper/trimmer. The blade of the device is made of durable 3.5mm Japanese stainless steel which is more typically found on higher end professional barber clippers.
This kit comes with 14 total pieces including the clipper/trimmer. The 8 piece set of included guide combs include the typical sizes one would expect with a trimmer, but also includes the size 0 (1/32” – 0.8mm) and size 0.5 (1/16” – 1.5mm) combs as well – increasing the versatility of this trimmer set. The second nice feature of the included combs is that they have a curved base to aid in cutting and accuracy allowing the device to conform to one’s head more directly than the traditional standard straight-edged combs. This kit is rounded out with a pair of scissors, a cleaning brush, a blade guard, lubricating oil, the USB adapter and cable, and the deluxe storage case which is very roomy and has space for additional grooming items allowing one to pack more efficiently.
Hopefully you can tell by now that I am a fan of this clipper & trimmer set and recommend it. However, with the addition of left and right ear combs this set would become truly amazing.

The features of this Microphone are excellent. It is a 30 mm dynamic Cardioid microphone. The microphone is a top-entry microphone, which mean the microphone should have the top of the microphone pointed at your mouth for the best sound capture. The microphone itself has 3 controls – a mute button, a volume control for headphones connected via the 3.5 mm headphone port, and a Microphone Gain control for adjusting the sound capture sensitivity. Additional features include an analog gain limiter pre preventing vice distortion, a high pass filter to block unwanted low frequencies, mic monitoring (via the 3.5 mm headphone port) to allow oneself to be heard accurately, a windsock and built-in shock absorber to dampen noise. The microphone comes with a USB-A to USB-C Cable with the USB C going on the microphone end of the connection. The cable is very long and should support most routing/mounting needs. An image of everything that comes in the box is included with this review.

Razer offers its Synapse software for device and Audio Mixing via this software (see images included with this review). This software allows one to “assign your audio to the respective outputs and control the levels at which they play.”

The Corsair K100 Air Wireless Gaming Keyboard is a high-quality gaming keyboard that could give serious gamers an edge in their gaming. This keyboard is a high-quality, RGB mechanical wireless keyboard that is intended for high-performance gaming. The keyboard has serious features – such as an ability to connect via a highspeed wireless connection technology called SLIPSTREAM, and ultra-low profile Cherry MX mechanical switches for the keys. These keys help to enable a 17mm profile deign of the keyboard. The connectivity options provide a whole host of options for each usage scenario. I have noticed that there is an initial lag with the keyboard/system must wake up and the first key press may be missed. Overall, this is a high-quality gaming keyboard. The investment required to have it will be one that only you can decide if it is right for you.

JBuds Air Pro are your DAILY DRIVER. Imagine you put in your earbuds in the morning and they go with you through your day without a thought. From work calls on your laptop, to listening to a podcast on your mobile, to walking the dog and watching a movie. You need headphones that are versatile as you. Who says you can~t you wear the same earbuds for both work and play?

The JLABS JBUDS Air Pro True wireless earbuds (model: EBJBAIRPRORBLK82 ) are a good sounding set of earbuds. They have a wide range of capabilities and sound well across the spectrum of music. While they may not hit the highest of highs and the lowest of the lows – they will do the job and do it at a decent price – falling just under the middle of the price ranges I found for True Wireless earbuds.

When testing the earbuds, I called my wife to see how the JLABS JBUDS Air Pro sound and most importantly, mic worked. My wife describes the sound on the receiving end as good and crisp without any crackling, despite it sounding like I was a bit of a distance away. She didn’t hear any static as sometimes happens with cheaper earbud mics. There was no cutting out or skipped words, even while I was walking around using them (a known issue we have experienced with other earbud mics.)
Next, let’s discuss the features of this set of earbuds. First, these are True Wireless earbuds via Bluetooth 5.1 with multi-point connectivity (2 devices at the same time) and are powered by built-in Lithium polymer batteries rated for up to 9 hours in the earbuds and 27+ hours from the charging case for a total rated time of 36+ hours (your time will vary) of battery life. They feature touch controls on both pods, auto on, the ability to use either bud in a solo mode, can work with phone assistants, have good audio quality, microphones in both pods, a noise isolating fit, and IP55 dust and water resistance for the earbuds only. The earbuds come with 3 sets of gel tips (S, M, and L) so that the fit can be customized. They also come with two sets of Cush Fins™ to aid in the fit of the buds to the ear (they say one set, but there is a set installed, thus I say two sets). The ear buds come with wear detect sensors so that music can be paused and restarted as needed when either pod is removed from the ear. The charging case has an integrated cable that folds nicely into the case for ease of storage. These also come with a 2-year warranty and 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
The touch controls are all the controls you would expect for powering the earbuds on/off, answering/ending/ignoring calls, voice assistant, music play/pause, and skipping tracks. Pressing and holding the left earbud for 1 + seconds will but the buds into movie mode. This mode enables a low-latency connection, which means a decreased range, to help reduce audio lag so that voices sync to the video screen when you are watching movies. Tapping 3 times on the right ear bud enables Be Aware mode that allows one to listen but still hear the surrounding area for safe listening. Tapping 3 times on the left ear bud cycles the EQ settings from JLab Signature (default with amplified vocals and bass), to Balanced (no enhancements), to Bass blast (amplified bass and sub-bass). The EQ mode is indicated with voice prompts. In ear devices are not my first choice in audio devices, however these I found to be one of the most comfortable of the many ear buds I have tried.
Overall, in my testing these earbuds performed well and sounded good for both calls and audio and would be a good addition for anyone who likes to use earbuds for their audio needs. Listening to Bohemian Rhapsody on these was a good experience. The cross-channel sounds were detectable and flowed nicely across the “sound stage”. The devices have a middle of the pack price for True Wireless ear buds that makes them attractive due to the features.

The Razer Barracuda Pro are an impressive, feature-rich set of wireless gaming headphones that connect either via Bluetooth or high-speed 2.4GHz wireless. In addition to this written review, you can watch my video review of these headphones:

Theses headphones come in a very nice hard-shell case, useful for travelling with them. Included with the headphone in this case are a USB-C High-speed (2.4GHz) wireless dongle, a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, and a Type-A to Type-C adapter cable for adapting the headphones for high-speed use with a number of systems including but not limited to PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Android devices, and the literature pack which includes a mini-manual, a Sticker for you rig, an info-card and a Razer Gold voucher card for use with Razer Services to buy games and in-game content. A full 35-page manual is available for download that contains additional details on the headset.
The rest of this review will be done in 3 parts – features, usage impressions, and pros/cons:
Features:
The features of these headphones are excellent. This wireless headset provides for up to 40 hours of wireless listening on a single charge. These headphones also come with Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology. While these to features are intended for uninterrupted long-duration gaming sessions, they easily translate into uninterrupted long-haul flights, commuting use, etc. Additional features include THX Achromatic audio amplifier technology for distortion and noise reduction, integrated beamforming noise-cancelling microphones for clear voice conversations. The headphones use Razer™ Triforce BIO-cellulose 50MM drivers for natural high-end sound. The headphones are backed by a two-year warranty.

This headset features a wide range of controls physically on the device. On the left ear you have the following items – Type-C charging port, the status indicator (charging/connectivity status), power button, volume control wheel, and the Mic mute button. On the right side is the Razer SmartSwitch button which allows the headset to flip between Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz modes, control the Active noise cancellation mode, and enable/disable gaming mode while using the Bluetooth connection, which allows the headset to function at a lower latency (trades faster response times with decreased wireless range), while giving you real-time audio feedback while gaming.
These headphones can be controlled using either the Razer Audio app on mobile and/or the Razer Synapse App on the PC. These apps allow one to personalize your experience with the headset by adjusting the headset’s sound settings, mixer settings (using any of the headset’s EQ presets or by creating your own preset), enhancement settings (adjusting the incoming audio settings and Frequency response), Mic settings, and the power settings.
Usage Impressions:
The headset is a wonderful addition to one’s setup and will allow you to get the best sounds from one’s system when using a headset. I tested the headset using multiple tracks that were recommended for testing audio systems. These tracks test audio systems across the sound spectrum form deep base to soaring highs. The tracks allow testing spatial separation of sounds and the dynamic ranges of the piece being played. Each of these tracks sounded excellent.
The comfort and noise cancelling features of this headset are nice and really make these useful for situations where noise cancelling is important. The over-the-each memory foam cushions on these headphones are very comfortable and are purpose-built to relieve pressure and aid in the comfort of the headphones for long-duration use.

For calls this headset works great and had no issues with hearing the other person or them hearing you.

Get super-portable sound to go. The XG300 wireless speaker plays as hard as you do, with up to 25 hours of battery life and IP67 waterproof and dustproof. Its rich full sound and booming bass are perfect for when you want quality audio that goes wherever you go.

A large but Very Nice Portable Speaker System

The Sony XG300is a very nice portable speaker system. This system is capable of battery powered use for and estimated life of up to 25 hours. The system is designed to be run via Bluetooth but does include a 3.5mm audio in port. Additional ports include a USB C-based Charging port, a USB-A type port that is for charging other devices. These ports are housed behind a door on the unit’s “rear” side that also includes a battery care button that is intended to prevent the battery from being full charged to extend its lifetime, and a light port to control of the lights on the ends of the device are used. When closed, the door helps to provide the unit with its IP67 Waterproof and Dustproof capabilities.
Additional controls on the front of the unit include the power button, the Bluetooth pairing button, a mega bass setting button, the play/pause/answer button, and the volume controls in the form of a – button and a + button.
Physically the system weighs approximately 6.61 lbs. (3 kg) and measures 25.5” x 5.4 “ x 5.35” (318mm x 138mm x 136 mm). The unit is mostly cylindrical in shape and has a carrying handle on the top and feet on the bottom to prevent it from rolling.
General Features:
The features of this speaker system are excellent. This system consists of two tweeters and two woofers in a L/R stereo configuration. The system does provide very loud sound when the volume is turned up and at about 60% of full volume it starts to get a bit too loud – which means that the system can produce sounds for quite a good distance allowing it to be used as a main speaker at an outdoor party.

The unit does have LED light rings on the ends that can be used to add lights to the music. The lighting settings can be controlled from the Sony Music Center application that is compatible with the speaker unit.

The fact that this device has a speaker phone feature was a bit of a surprise. The microphone can pick up a person speaking from at least 15’. The speakerphone function also has Echo cancelling technology that allows for multiple people to talk at the same time without on getting cut off. The Multipoint connections functionality allows for two devices to be paired at the same time.
App Features:
The system can connect to and be controlled from Android and iPhone devices using the Sony Music Center application and/or the Sony Fiestable application – which is oriented at the Karaoke/dance party possibilities with the system. With the Sony Music Center application one can control each of the audio modes, stream music from your phone, and control the speaker at distance.

While much of my testing was done via my cell phone; a Bluetooth enabled projector would pair very nicely with this system and between the projector and the speaker system one could have a nice tailgating setup or an entertainment system whole camping or RVing.

What’s the voltage on this product?
It is 7.4 Volts and 60 Watts (8.1 Amps) and runs off of a 2000mAH battery and is rated for 20 up to blending cycles.

Just the opposite - it is a rear facing camera and NOT a backup camera.

Will this fit a 2012 Volvo XC 60?
It should work and you might have to get an extension cable to route the rear-facing camera. Since your vehicle has a hatchback - routing the cable through the wiring harness and onto the glass will present challenges.

Will the remote controller hold a Galaxy Note 9 in a case?
IT is unlikely to do so - I could not fit my iPhone 6 with an otter box case.

It has one tray that can use Letter or legal and holds 250 sheets. It does have a single-sheet manual feed tray also.
