I had been looking around for a long time to find a accurate sounding self powered speaker system. Out of all the speaker systems that I listened to, and that was a lot, the Klipsh ProMedia 2.1 speaker system was by far the best.
The ProMedia 2.1 system consists of two satellite speakers and a subwoofer. The satellite speakers have a 25mm metalized polymer dome tweeter mated to a MicroTractrix TM Horn and a 3 inch long-throw mid-bass driver. The subwoofer consists of a 8 inch long-throw driver and rear firing slot tuned port with sixth-order enclosure design. Right satellite speaker has main and subwoofer volume controls, plus inputs for MP3/Disc and headphones.
The satellite speakers are attractive and take up very little space, but the subwoofer is rather large for the this type of system. It's dimensions are 10" square by 9.5" high, so make sure you have the space for it.
But if you are looking for a very good sounding self powered satellite system, this is the system to buy.
What's great about it: Good sound quality for a great price.
What's not so great: System does not have an off switch. Subwoofer produces a lot of sound, must control it down with subwoofer dial.
