This is as close to a pro-sumer camera as you can get from Canon. With top of the line picture and video modes and a great kit lens in the 28-135mm you really can't go wrong. The camera does take some time to get used to if you were previously using a 60d or other type of DSLR. Overall the main thing is that it only has 2 automated modes and the rest are variations on manual. It also doesn't have a flip out screen like the 60d, which hasn't seemed to be an issue for me. It is also extremely solid and very heavy. I would recommend a good case and lens filter to protect your investment along with an extra battery. Also there are lots of great books and videos you can buy to really get the most out of this camera and come up to speed on it fast.
What's great about it: great pro-sumer camera for the price
