A quality blu ray that is light on the features

MIGP is my favorite mission impossible movie barely going beyond MI3. I really wasn't expecting it but I was pleasantly surprised with the action and the acting.
If you liked the movie the blu ray is definitely the way to go. Top quality here.
The video looks great with a very sharp, clear, and deep picture with only a scene or two of light fuzz. I would give video a 9/10. The audio work is amazing as well. The dialogue comes in crystal clear and the there are quite a few moments in the movie that gives your bass a workout. The audio direction is fantastic. Just listen when tom is chasing the bad guy through the sandstorm. That really stood out to me. A 10/10 for me for the audio.
I can't really say that I was impressed with the amount of special features that the movie offers, however. There are only a few features that explain a bit on how different parts of the movie were made. What is here, however is quite good and interesting to watch if you're a fan of the movie. I just wanted more. I didn't find a commentary track either which bummed me out.
In short, I would recommend this blu ray to anyone who enjoyed the movie. It has an amazing audio/video presentation that is worth owning. I just wish it had more features.
What's great about it: near perfect audio and picture quality
What's not so great: left wanting more special features
I would recommend this to a friend!

For Max Payne, the tragedies that took his loved ones years ago are wounds that refuse to heal. No longer a cop, close to washed up and addicted to pain killers, Max takes a job in S~o Paulo, Brazil, protecting the family of wealthy real estate mogul Rodrigo Branco, in an effort to finally escape his troubled past. But as events spiral out of his control, Max Payne finds himself alone on the streets of an unfamiliar city, desperately searching for the truth and fighting for a way out. Featuring cutting-edge shooting mechanics for precision gunplay, advanced new Bullet Time and Shootdodge effects, full integration of Natural Motion's Euphoria Character Behavior system for lifelike movement and a dark and twisted story, Max Payne 3 is a seamless, highly detailed, cinematic experience from Rockstar Games. In addition to an expansive single-player campaign, Max Payne 3 will also be the first entry in the series to introduce a thorough and engrossing multiplayer experience. Max Payne 3 multiplayer brings the same cinematic feel, fluid gunplay and sense of movement of the single-player game into the realm of online multiplayer. Using the fiction and signature gameplay elements of the Max Payne universe, Max Payne 3 features a wide range of new and traditional multiplayer modes that play on the themes of paranoia, betrayal and heroism, all delivered with the same epic visual style of the single-player game.

For the Payne fans!

After playing through the game on medium difficulty and going through again on hard difficulty I can honestly say that I love max payne 3. I had been waiting many years since the 2nd one to play this game and I am not disappointed at all.
This is one of the best action games i have ever played. Rockstar has brought back max payne in the best way possible. The story is great and makes you keep playing and compliments the action wonderfully. Gameplay is pretty much perfected. Bullet-time is,again, the main focus in this game and it works better than ever. Rockstar has truly outdone itself with physics and animation. Bullets rip through bodies while leaving behind devastating damage and enemies will react realistacly depending on where they are shot. This attention to detail also applies to max payne. You really have to pay attention to where you use the bullet dodge in this game. Your dodge will be cut short if you do it too close to a wall or other object. Max will brace for impact as he is about to dive into an object leaving him vulnerable.
The AI is something to mention. It's some of the best I have seen in a game. Even just starting to play the game on medium difficulty I was getting worked over simply because the enemies would take advantage of every opportunity when I was focusing too long on another enemy. They flank and charge and use team work to take you down. It makes these encounters with them all that much more intense. Intelligently using bullet-time is a must.
This isn't the best looking game I have ever seen but it still looks really good. Characters are animated superbly especially max payne. The evnironments really stand out here. Every location is chuck full of details big and small that make this game come alive. Having a firefight in an office is thrilling when there's glass and paper flying every where and walls and pillars are breaking away while computers and tables are getting knocked over. Rockstar definitely took advantage of the time they had with these environments to make them fun to play in.
Like I said, the story is great. This is due to excellent voice acting in the game. Max Payne has some of the best voice work I have ever heard. He really helps carry the story a long with his cynical and sarcastic comments that made me laugh constantly.
This game was definitely made for max payne fans. If you loved the other games then you will most likely love this one as well. If you didn't then it probably won't convert you. I have heard negative comments about the game that I think are unfair. Like this game doesn't have innovative gameplay. I find this to be unfair simply because many games haven't had the most innovative gameplay. Call of duty, halo sequals, mario bros. games, etc. are all great games but aren't exactly innovative when it comes to gameplay nowadays. I think these games are
great, for example, because it takes its gameplay but sets it in creative environments that make you play it in creative ways. This is what I think rockstar has done with max payne. They have taken the max payne formula and have added great visuals, animation, details, story, environments, etc. to make a new experience for max payne fans.
Oh yeah, the multiplayer is a blast as well. It will keep you playing after you have beaten the game. I definitely recommend picking this one up.
What's great about it: Excellent gunplay, Looks great, plays great, fun multiplayer
What's not so great: nudity, a little short

Joss Whedon attempted to follow up his successful series Buffy the Vampire Slayer with the science fiction-themed Firefly. Although the series failed to garner a mass audience, it did have a loyal following. Those fans will be pleased by this box set that contains every episode of the series that aired, as well as three never-before-seen episodes. All 15 episodes are presented in anamorphic widescreen. English, French, and Spanish soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. Commentaries are available on four of the episodes. Production featurettes, a blooper reel, and a tour of the set with Whedon round out this solid package that should be of interest to genre enthusiasts as well as Whedon's fans.

A Classic!

A few years ago I was browsing the family selection when I came upon this boxed set that one of my family members apparently had acquired. I had never heard of firefly so I wasn't too interested in a tv series that I had never heard of before.
After not finding anything else I reluctantly put the first disc into the player and, i have to tell you, I couldnt stop watching it. Everything about this show is expertly done. The stories, the characters, the acting, everything. Even the humor adds to the show which is something I find to be rare in shows like this.
After watching every single episode I wanted more. Even after watching the fantastic serenity movie I wanted more. Im frustrated how this great of a show was cancelled while others that are, quite frankly, quite terrible run rampant on several channels. Im just sad that I couldn't have supported this show when it still mattered.
Anyway, I recommend this show to anyone. Buy it!
What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Pffff!

Way too familiar...

When the first skate came out i immediately was interested to see how it was. When I bought it i was hooked instantly. Pulling off crazy flip tricks in a realistic setting and with realistic physics was a blast. Then the second came out offering a bit more with a much more interesting world and the very useful ability of getting off the board and interacting with objects in the environment. I loved these games and have a ton of recorded in-game footage and photos to prove it.
I was excited to get this one as well since it was yet another skate game. Unfortunately for me, however, I found this game a bit too familiar for me. Yes, there have been refinements and a few new additions to the formula, but largely for me it felt the same.
I don't hate this game, however. I still think this is the best in the series quality wise. If you are a newcomer to the skate franchise then definitely start out with this one. It's not dumbed down or anything like that, but more accessible. There are a bunch of useful and in depth tutorials to help you get the basics down with more advanced ones to help you nail the more difficult tricks. Visuals, gameplay, and other aspects of the game have been refined as well for a better skate experience.
Being able to customize pretty much everything about your skater is still great. There are plenty of options. Being able to customize your own parks is a neat addition as well. I do like the structure of the "story-mode" in this game too.
I just found the experience a bit stale only because I had felt like I had played the game before. There just wasn't enough of new content to keep me interested for very long. I am confident, however, that EA can do new things with the next installment to make it a fresher experience.
I fully recommend this game to those who want to get into the skate series.
What's great about it: most comprehensive skate, refinements all around, more accesible to newcomers
What's not so great: not much of a change from the second

Doesn't live up to the Clancy name
on June 17, 2012

I have always been a fan of tom clancy games. There is usually a ton of polish to each one in terms of gameplay and visuals. GR:Advanced Warfighter is probably the best example of this with the tom clancy name for me.
Unfortunately, future soldier shares none of these characteristics with other tc titles. Right as i got into the single player campaign I could tell that a few things were off.
The visuals are very mediocre. They aren't terrible but they are noticeably bland. I really can't believe how the visuals took this much of a step back when past tom clancy titles from forever ago look a lot better. Now a game doesnt have to be the best looking in order for me to say its a good game. I can still enjoy a game with basic graphics. However, some visual hiccups are less forgivable for me than others. Pop-in in future soldier is a pretty big problem. There were multiple occasions within just an hour of playtime when entire buildings would appear 20-30 feet in front of my character. This is a visual flaw that I can't get used to. It kills the experience for me. As you can imagine, this also means draw distances take a hit as well and in a shooter that's a problem.
It doesn't help that the environments are very uninteresting either. There is hardly any detail added to these levels. They are pretty boring to play through. Nothing exciting to see whatsoever. Thankfully, however, that's not the case with the actual ghosts in your team. Your character and your teammates look pretty good. Each one has their own unique look and they look pretty cool. I think all of the attention went designing them.
I guess i could have looked passed the visual flaws if the game was fun to play. Unfortunately, I didn't find the action very exciting either. The firefights are basic and just end up being more get into cover, pop out, shoot, move up, etc. This isn't really even the problem though. The level design is very linear most of the time offering very little in tactical decision making. There were plenty of firefights i got myself into where I found an alleyway that looked perfect for a flanking opportunity. As I moved into it,however, I saw a indicator in the middle of the screen telling me that I was about to leave the battlefield or something and to return immediately.
There are missions that do focus on stealth as well. These do offer up something better than the firefight focused ones but they are still flawed. There is some satisfaction in crouching to enable your stealth camo and taking out a guard from behind with a stealth kill. Some of the satisfaction is lost, however, when you realize the enemy AI isn't very intelligent at all. There were multiple occasions when I would take out a guard walking around a few yards a away from a group of guards chatting to each other and they wouldn't notice. One of them would have a perfect viewpoint of the dead body and he somehow wouldn't see it.
In some missions you wont have to try very hard at all to avoid the enemy all together. There will be paths in some levels with very low to no enemy population whatsoever. This proves to be boring. There were 2 missions that I remember when I didn't run into more than two enemy guards. I just crouched to activate my stealth camo and then ran through the whole level hardly having to stop to let a guard pass by. Not my type of fun in a game.
When you do have to take out multiple targets, however, you and your teammates are up to the task. You can tag an enemy for each of your squad to take out, give the order to fire, then watch as each of the guards die in a synchronized fashion.
I can't really say much for the multiplayer. I bought the game used and I didn't feel like shelling out 10 more dollars for the multiplayer just to find that I didnt enjoy that part of the game either. I did play the beta for it awhile back and had a decent time with it but 10 dollars is asking a bit too much from me.
I was really excited for this game. It has the tom clancy name on it so of course I'd be interested. For me, however, it didn't have any of the quality I've come to expect from the tom clancy name. If you want to try it to see if you like it definitely rent it first. At least wait for a discount.
What's great about it: some good ideas, good character models
What's not so great: mediocre graphics, pop-in,unexciting action, bland story

Very happy with it!

A few weeks ago my 100 year old keyboard finally died on me and I figured it was time to just spend the money on a brand new one. As my luck would have it, Bestbuy sent me my daily deal email with this keyboard half off.
This is the best keyboard Ive ever had. I have had no problem with it whatsoever. It's wireless so picking it up and taking it across the room is easy. The connection hasn't gone out once during the few weeks Ive had it. I love it.
I guess if I had to say anything bad it would have to be that the keys are little small and close together. My last keyboard had bigger keys that were spaced a bit apart. It just took me a few days to get use to it, however, so no big deal.
I would have liked a few more programmable buttons also. I liked my last one because there were some for my music and then for pc functions of my choice. This one just had a play button for media but no next or back button. I had to forsake the pc functions of the other keys and program them to do something else I thought was more important. That wasn't a very big problem for me either.
Bottom line is that it's a great wireless keyboard. Setting it up is as easy as plugging in the usb receiver into a port in the computer. The quality is also very good for the price you pay.
What's great about it: Simple to use, light, good deal
What's not so great: keys a little small, more programmable buttons would be nice

this is definitely a purchase that I will never regret. I recommend this set to anyone that hasn't purchased 1 or more of the movies on blu-ray already. Im pretty sure that this is as good as these movies are going to look and sound. They did an amazing job on this box set.

One of the best sets you can buy

I have always been a big fan of the Austin Powers movies. All of them make me laugh with their high-class potty humor(if that makes sense) and the characters are hilarious.
If your an Powers fan then no need to read anymore. You need to buy this set. If you have never seen austin powers then rent them and then buy them.
These blurays are great. I wasn't expecting much of an improvement especially from the first 2 since they were released quite a long time ago. I was surprised, however, to see that 1 and 2 received great improvements to their video and audio quality. 3 still looks the best but 1 and 2 still look amazing for when they were released. Rest assured great care went into these blurays.
What's great about it: Great price, 3 great movies, quality blurays
What's not so great: A lot of extras that aren't that interesting
I would recommend this to a friend!
