Let me start out by saying that I am not writing a negative review because of a bias against Beats by Dre. In all actuality, I really like the brand and I have multiple products from them. However, these headphones are disgraceful. I wish I could point out something about these cans that might make them worth buying, but sadly, I cannot.
I'll break down the review into terms of sound quality (lows/mids/highs), comfort, and durability. Then, I'll add some additional comments at the end.
Lows: A lot of bass, but not in a good way. Very muddy, uncontrolled, and overpowering. Destroys the rest of the music.
Mids: Practically nonexistent because the bass is too busy drowning it out.
Highs: Sound very distant at normal volumes, almost as if your in a large room with echoes. At high volumes, can be very harsh.
Comfort: Very lightweight. After long periods of listening your ears will get quite sore and the discomfort really does grow on you quickly. Also, the headband is not padded very well.
Durability: If it's possible to have something worse than the sound quality, this is it. You could be the most gentle person in the world and chances are that these will still break. Simply taking them off of your head will sometimes snap them in half. Awful. A joke.
I suppose the only thing that can salvage these headphones is style, the cable (phone/mp3 compatible playback/call buttons), and the portability. These still cannot make up for the awful sound reproduction and build quality that stick out like a sore, beaten, stepped on, run over, thumb.
If you're about to drop $200 on a pair of on-ear headphones, save yourself $40-$80 and get the SOL Republic Tracks HD or the Klipsch Image One On-Ear Headphones.
Once again, I am not writing this to bash Beats by Dre in anyway. I'm writing this to try and save everybody some time and money.
Enjoy powerful audio with these Beats By Dr. Dre Beats Studio over-the-ear headphones that feature active noise-canceling technology that blocks out external sounds for crisp, clear audio. The foldable design allows for easy storage and carrying.

Not only am I obsessed with sound, but I am also big into style as well, so when I saw these I had to get them. I have had the Beats Studio headphones for quite a while until I decided to go ahead and get these new colored ones. Let me start off by saying that you are getting a review that takes away the look of the headphones and gives you an honest review of the sound and comfort.
I will first talk about the sound. I am going to break it down in terms of lows, mids, and highs just as expected.
Lows- Wow... Finally what the teen generation has been looking for. This bass will rattle your skull and then make your eyes bulge out. Perfect for hip-hop and rap.
Mids- This is where the problem lies. Very underwhelming... I'm not sure if the bass drowns them out or what, but they are definitely not a stand out.
Highs- At times a little too harsh. At high volume levels, claps and cymbal crashes can make your ears tweak a bit, but then again, you would have to be deaf to be listening to these things passed 75%.
As a whole, these cans will please music lovers. It is definitely a set that is made for bass heavy music, which some people specifically look for.
When it comes to the price tag, $300 is a lot of money. I would say that these are probably worth around $200.
If you're looking for a more solid pair of headphones that are not geared towards bass and are at a cheaper price, I would immediately recommend the Audio Technica ATH-M50 headphones. They are incredible headphones and do offer unbelievable bass, but it is not over-exemplified such as is the case with the Beats.
As for the build quality... It's plastic... It feels fragile... And if you do not take care of these, they will break. Luckily, both Best Buy and Monster have excellent customer service and will give you brand new replacement headphones if yours happen to break. I definitely recommend getting the Best Buy warranty though.
One more side note, these are incredibly comfortable. Even for long periods of listening (while walking), your ears will not get too hot or sore. They are like clouds on your ears. Also, they do require two AAA batteries to work. Rechargeable do the trick.
What's great about it: Comfort. Bass, Highs, Style
What's not so great: Mids, Requires two AAA batteries, fragile
