Released in mid-2000 to its conclusion, the members of the giant insect ship of Lexx set to fight a civil war between two interlocked planets before concluding to see the end of a self-destructive world called Earth.
Some softcore imagery present to this series, viewer discretion advised. Spliced more like Dune meets Pulp Fiction, the anti-heroes of series are more fixating than the cheap CGI.
If you found Star Wars overrated and Star Trek acting boring, Lexx may be a love or hate escape.
What's great about it: Two seasons for the price of one.
What's not so great: Unfamiliar viewers may be confused. For Mature Audiences.

More like a TV drama toss up of ' The Graduate' and a low-ball chick flick; the pacing is slow, the plot is somewhat unrealistic, but don't expect anything like 'Animal House' or 'American Pie'. Shot in Canada, the movie does uphold more maturity to its execution of rommance than most US comedies that thrive on controvery or shock value. No trailers or extras.
What's great about it: Acting
What's not so great: slow paced, not a movie for poor attention spans
When a London modeling agency booker dozes off while waiting for the midnight subway train, the subterranean terror that awaits her in the underground tunnels will send her screaming for her life through a dark labyrinth in this horror entry directed by Christopher Smith and starring Run Lola Run's Franka Potente. Awakening to discover that the midnight train has passed and she is locked in the station, Kate (Potente) reluctantly steps onto a mysterious empty train for a ride she will not soon forget. As the train grinds to a stop in the pitch black tunnels of the London Underground, Kate realizes that she is not alone in the darkness and if she has any hope of surviving until dawn she'll have to fight for her life against an unimaginable horror too terrifying for the light of day.

A simple horror straight from London 2004 depicts Franka Contente as a social butterfly locked accidentially after hours in a subway tunnel hunted by a subterrain killer. Unique but predictable in parts for being a "tombed" environment to England subway stations and sewers, the movie is at most an old-fashion, dirty, slow-boiled horror. Great for Halloween, but the monster could have had more depth.

Trying a poor imitation to the dark comedy 'Heathers', Pretty Persuasions showcases the dark humor of school tie cliques and cruel students, but wraps the subject matter around misconduct and hypocrisy with a trio of school girls set to frame a teacher for fame. Despite the roster of good actors, the movie feels bland, empty and the characters are unlikable with an ending that leaves you disappointed. Had this been a drama, it may had hold levity, a comedy of zero charm.
What's great about it: Great cast of actors.
What's not so great: Terrible subject matter. Crummy ending.

A good movie that introduces the Avengers as a team to their core against fighting the evil god Loki from releasing an alien army to rule Earth. A great escape of a movie for comic fans, the movie tends to blend so many concepts at once it may overwhelm. New viewers unfamiliar to 'Thor', 'Captain America', 'Iron Man' or 'Hulk' may feel lost to characters. The movie is power fantasy eye candy with some smarts but its a movie that holds "rules" similar to most hero movies of the past.
What's great about it: Special effects, power fantasy, great escape.

Straight tailored for late night Cable, Rodney Dangerfield's last movie is a nice send-off slice depicting him as a three-time divorced land developer caught buying land to an FCLDS terrirtory that has him with 5 wives. Spicy but not dirty. With cameos of Andrew Dice Clay, Jerry Stiller and Molly Shannon . Dangerfield's jokes remain the biggest draw to any fan.
What's great about it: Rodney Dangerfield's jokes. For fans of Dangerfield.

From the director of 'The Devil's Backbone' and the Hellboy films comes this early film in 1993, Cronos, which sets in South America with a loving family consisted of grandparents and grandchild. The grandfather finds a magical device that grants its user immortality at a cost of being a vampire, it is used accidentially and wanted by a dying evil millionaire the grandfather sets not to have. More gorish than scary, the dark imagery is great. The Spanish-English speakings may annoy with subtitiles added.
What's great about it: Great movie to fans of 'Hellboy', 'Pans Labryinth'; gorish.
What's not so great: Unfamiliar actors. Spanish-English transition. Overpriced

A movie of sensation and political conspiracy, Travolta and Allen reteam since the late '70's 'Carrie' in contrasting characters set to save each other and reveal and unfolding political assassination in their prescence. Additions of John Lithgow and Denis Franz are nostalgic early shots. The movie in 1980's Philadelphia is a trip to watch and the movements are great. The ending may shock or disappoint, but fans of the listed actors and directors will enjoy. Movie with extras a bit overpriced.
What's great about it: The actors, the extras. Good for fans of actors; film class.
What's not so great: Overpriced for 2 discs. May not attract younger audiences.

Written and directed by the screenwriter of 'The Departed', fans of the latter film could give this one a see. Farrell and Knightley play well on rommance, Ray Winstone as the bad guy is good; Cut and dry British crime drama with great sets & locale, no memorable moments, near predictable in select parts as a crime drama. Fans of any listed actor may enjoy, but the movie could pass for an old TV plot.

From director David Cronenberg of 1980's 'The Fly' and 'History of Violence', 'A Dangerous Method' is a historical fictional exerpt set to 18th Century Vienna on the introduction of psychology, a must see. A fascinating period piece which blends drama, ideologies, love, tryst and derrivative history; psychologist allies turned rivals Carl Jung & Sigmund Freud debacle ideals while setting to defend their science in midst of scandal with Jung's patient then mistress played by Knightley. A great movie to college film class neither preachy or sappy, the movie challenges thought on humanism and the science of human behavior very well.
What's great about it: Actors, plot, intelligent themes, good period piece
What's not so great: Suggestive themes, discretion advised, slow paced
